Very nice, warm and inviting hotel to stay at. The rooms are very well appointed and beds were very comfortable. I could not recommend this hotel more highly if you're looking for accomodation in the Amesbury - Bulford area.

Service from young staff very slow it felt as if they'd had little training and were doing the bare minimum, not overly interested in hospitality. My drink took 25 minutes to arrive and my dinner was cold. Mentioned to staff but no comeback, difficult to take it further when there as a guest to a birthday get together. Not offered desserts until long after we'd finished mains. Not an experience I'd care to repeat. The decor is lovely tho

Had a lovely stay with The George at Amesbury. Staff were absolutely lovely. Wangled an upgrade as it was my third visit for work in two months. Stunning room and characteristic building. Even more amazing, I checked out of my room, having left some jewellery behind and the management contacted me and arrange their return!

Loved staying here, the staff were lovely, rooms were gorgeous with lovely personal touches. Food was nice but mainly it was the staff and ambience that won me over. I would absolutely come back again and recommend

Very helpful lady at check in who managed to get me a pint before the bar closed as I got there very late! So I unfortunately missed food but was informed by my colleague who got there at well before it was very niceThe room Was lovey even the wonky floor added to its charm and the bathroom although small was amazingI really wanted to take the duck but though better of it lol !The extras like the coffee machine and bottles of water in the room just added to the experience i will definitely stay again if I’m that way for work !

Very nice hotel with a warm feeling. Room was well appointed, a bit drafty due to the very old window but no problem. Staff very welcoming. There is a decent sized car park to the rear of the building which is good. Breakfast was very good.

FINALLY somewhere decent in Amesbury to visit! I met a group of friends for coffee and it was such a comfortable place to sit and relax. Felt we could stay as long as we wanted as plenty of space and different areas tucked away. Very good interoir design. Looking forward to trying the food as the menu looked interesting. Shall be recommending to everyone and will be a regular!

Today we had Sunday lunch at the newly refurbished George Hotel and overall we were very impressed. The food was not only delicious, but also very nicely presented.The restaurant and bar area look amazing now, everything has been decorated to a very high standard and with a great eye for detail.The George Hotel is the perfect stop on the way to Stonehenge, for a meal, snack, or just a cup of coffee. It will definitely be my regular place now to pop in for a drink when I’m in Amesbury.

My wife and I called into the newly refurbished hotel for coffee and decided to stay for lunch. Excellent food and the surroundings are first class. We were served by Laura, a very professional, efficient and friendly young lady. We shall certainly be calling again. Such a difference from the old hotel, well worth a visit if you are ever in Amesbury. These premises are just what the town needed.

The rooms are beautiful and clean, you have a Nespresso machine with coffee in the room, and all the essentials. We felt the floor was not levelled with the feeling in bed of being up-side-down. The breakfast was delicious but we arrived at 8.45 and there were no more pastries and we had to ask for plates, cups and order the coffee which will come in a small coffee pot not enough for 3 people and a little jar with milk for 1. We ordered also a hot chocolate for the child which was not included in the standard breakfast. The rest was lovely and the staff was very friendly in general. Recommended.
