My wife bought me a ladies watch (by mistake) from this shop for my 70th on Thursday 7th April, today my Birthday I was surprised to receive a ladies watch, so I took it back down and they refused to give our money back, I now have a credit note for £350 as they do not give refunds, there is nothing in this shop worth buying in my opinionDO NOT TOUCH THIS SHOP WITH A BARGE POLEHopefully it will go out of businessBuy off the internet you can always get a refund, be warned

Staff were really nice and helpful. Very dog friendly _ we had two great Danes with us and the staff were happy to have them in the shop.

Went in to buy diamond earrings, wanted pair of 1.8 - 2 caratsAssistant was abrupt and not particularly helpful. They had some at their Ross on Wye branch, she said we could go there to see them, would not arrange to get them to HerefordGave incorrect information regarding the availability of diamonds in the size I requested, and made derogatory remarks , felt very upset and annoyed on leaving. She appeared to look down at me and rolled her eyes as if we were time wasters.Went to another jeweller a few minutes walk away and was spoilt for choice, found a pair in the size I wanted but ended up going for the 2 carats instead. Service at the other store was exceptionalWill Never go to Oswins again

Add your business listing to Yably.ADD BUSINESS LOCATIONMy reviewOswin & Co.ltdstarstarstarstarstar1/5 PoorStatus: ApprovedCreated: July 28, 2021I took a Pulsar watch which i had purchased from Oswins in 2011 for a battery change and reseal on Saturday 24July 2021 , I was quoted £200 which was more expensive than the watch actually cost. I did ask why and I was told it was due to rising costs. In fact they told me they no longer stock Pulsar because it so expensive to have repairs done. We discussed the change of battery and reseal as in 2019 it cost £90 from Oswins, my first change and reseal in 2016 was £30 from Oswins. So the rise in price is from 2016 to 2021 for same service is £170 with same company In 2019 though they had to re send the watch off again after I paid £90 as it leaked. This made me wonder had it actually be sent off in the first place as for £12.50 they can change battery in store if it is not needing a seal for waterproof. Now on Saturday 24 July 2021 when I was quoted £200 I did challenge this, I was told specifically that a change of battery and reseal had gone up in price due to Pulsar and that they no longer stocked Pulsar. Since then I have a email from Oswins saying that actually it was a miscommunication by the staff as a service of the watch would be £200 , to have the battery changed re sealed would actually be £55. That is even cheaper than what I paid in 2019 which was £90 !Anyway I was not prepared to pay £200 so I went to another Jewellers in Hereford, for the battery change, be sent away for a reseal plus a cleaning was only £30.I also felt that both staff members I spoke with were condensending, they seemed to have an answer for everything rather than listening to what was being requested. I would not recommend this company now, if they had stated that a battery change was £90 I would not have been any wiser, the fact I was charged more in 2019 than what it is now is concerning , also the battery did not even last 2 years when in fact in 2011 when I purchased it originally it lasted 5 years until 2016 . Very sad I have been treated this way by what Ibelieved was a local business with integrity, I would advise anyone to shop around first, luckily for me they quoted a totally uncompetitive price .I have been contacted and apologised to ,prices have been reviewed, I am happy that the owner contacted me and I have been offered a free reseal and change next time so in all it has been resolved.

Wouldn't change a bracelet that was quite clearly under warranty as proven by checking on the computer system. Suggest better quality catches if don't want to fix!!

Had my fiancés engagement ring repaired here, i was quoted £40 and then charged £100. No explanation as to why it was 2.5 times the quote.Woman on the desk wasnt very personable either, seemed like i was a nuisance despite having spent a considerable sum of money there

I took my Longines watch to Oswins, Hereford for a service mid August. They charged me £63 for sending it away to be assessed. I heard nothing from them for weeks so I chased them up. They claimed the repairer they use couldnt undertake the repair so they then told me they would send it to a Longines repair centre. The weeks past so I chased them once again. A week or 2 later I was told the repair cost was going to be over £300. (The watch when new only cost £600) so I instructed them to return my watch. Another 4 weeks have since past. What I thought should have been a simple and straightforward service to my watch has taken the best part of 3 months. This is customer service at its very worst. I am now beginning to get a sinister feeling that my watch is in fact lost. Which if this is the case its a real pity because it was given to me by my former employers in recognition of 20 years service. Latest update - in the end I did get my watch back and its was still functioning. My lesson learned.

Over the years I've learnt that, in the UK, one should expect awful customer service as standard. Having low expectations, I'm rarely disappointed. Very occasionally, I encounter a business that surpasses these low expectations. In the case of Oswins, I was surprised, delighted and totally blown away by their excellent customer service.Went in to get a watch strap fitted and chose this store at random as it was close to my parking spot. I was served by a gorgeous, attentive, cheerful and generally delightful lady who sorted out my watch with minimal fuss and at minimal cost. I would describe my overall experience here as fantastic and would not hesitate to recommend this store.Although I did not buy any jewellery, the store was well presented, clean and well stocked. Highly recommended.PS. In case you were wondering, I have no connection to the store or its personnel - just wanted to express my pleasure and gratitude. It's reassuring to know that excellent customer service is not yet completely extinct in the UK!!!
