Ordered 100 teabags of Lapsang Souchong. On tasting it,there was no smokey aroma or, flavour at all. I even telephoned and asked if the variety they sold was strong and smoke flavoured and, was assured it was. Up to you to find out, I know that other opinions vary.

We purchased 3 different flavors of tea (passion fruit and orange, mixed red berries, baked apple) and although they are quite colored, they do not taste much. Far far below the quality of Damman teas.

I miss visiting the shop in the Covered Market, but have been happy with the delivery service this year. They are a friendly lot at Cardews, and very customer-focused. Most importantly, it's v. nice tea & coffee at a reasonable price, plus a lot more interesting than the usual supermarket fare.

Hands down recommend this tea shop!! It is so affordable and it is nice to see so many different teas and knowledgable staff members! The store is one way system and we could choose the tea from list. The staff member explained the teas carefully and it was nice to also get more detailed explanations later on for how to brew the tea. It could be nice to have some general cards on how to brew different teas since for beginner tea buyer it could be a bit difficult to remember. The price is so affordable comparing to some other tea shops nearby and it is really worth it :)!I am not sure if we can bring our own containers? But it could be nice to have some system where if you bring your container it will be X price less or something to reduce waste :) highly recommend :) !!

Cardews is one of the jewels of Oxford. Their tea is delicious (there’s no better way to start the day than with a mug of their Oxford Breakfast Blend) and the shop is great fun to browse, with lovely and super-helpful folk behind the counter. If you’re in Oxford and have the chance, it’s a must. But if that’s difficult at the moment then their online service is every bit as good. I recently ordered some tea and a teapot which got stuck in the mail somewhere and they immediately and unprompted offered to courier a replacement order. Fortunately, the original order arrived in the nick of time, and so the replacement wasn’t necessary, but I can’t overstate how lovely and helpful they were throughout. I’ve been shopping there for 30 years: it’s the best tea merchants in the world. And....they sell great coffee too. What’s not to love?

Excellent Coffee. Have been a customer for years but then moved out of the area. Used their online ordering service recently - coffee is as good as it was - surpasses other coffee roasting companies I have tried (and I have tried many)

Great shop / cafe - bought a Tortoise Shell thermos from there as a Christmas gift (£14 - in 2018) and was well received. They also do a wide range of teas and coffees and are a bit of a treasure of the Covered Market.Hopefully people will support them during lockdown so they continue to survive and thrive.

Really lovely and friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere of a shop you could spend a long time in. The range of teas and coffees is really impressive, and so is the price considering the location. It's hard to find puer tea, but they had a couple to choose from :) 10/10 will go again!

Small (but perfectly formed?) very well stocked with knowledgeable and helpful staff. Coffee and tea mostly, but other stuff like tasty nibbles as well. Have only bought coffee and tea, always good. Oh, I forgot, it's not a café, coffee beans (can be ground) and tea for your own brewing.
