A/C didn’t turn on in room 1. Room 2 only blew air but no A/C. No side tables near bed or phones. Dated property and not 4 stars.Would not recommend this place especially for the price… I’ve stayed at nicer travel lodges! Also says dog friendly, includes breakfast but then doesn’t allow you to eat breakfast anywhere in the hotel with the dog. Finally after discussion they compromised with in room dinning breakfast.

Privilege rooms are very comfortable and larger than a classic double with added extras. A hearty breakfast but limited menu for evening meals. A couple of hiccups in that our evening meal order didn't connect to the kitchen system resulting in a longer wait for one of the mains. A starter said roasted beetroot but the chef forgot to put the beetroot in the dish. A pity the swimming pool is out of action. However the above didn't detract from our time at the hotel as we liked it's location. Staff helpful and friendly.

The stay has been very good, with a very friendly and willing staff, as well as the restaurant service. One remark that seems to me very important (also from a technical point of view): the hotel urgently needs a maintenance service for the toilets and bathrooms, and also, for health reasons, it is essential that the rooms have access to natural ventilation, apart from the HVOC systems. With impracticable windows, the rooms lack air renewal, which is considerably unhealthy. I think this is an urgent decision to be taken by your management, as when reviewing the reviews, almost all of them mention this problem, and in my case I noticed it during my stay.Thank you.

Please note this hotel no longer has a pool or a good fitness center. It has a small gym in the basement with only 4 machines. The beds are comfortable but the windows don’t open and it has a very old and noisy AC system. The best thing about this hotel is the location and the breakfast.

The air conditioning in both of our rooms was completely ineffective. As an attempt to make it work, we turned them up to full power meaning that they were very loud. There was no time to change rooms as it was late by the time we discovered this and we had children with us. We informed the desk in the morning, who, after some prompting offered us an upgrade on our next stay. Not really what it would have expected as we had hardly slept at all.

Hotel is nice when you walk in, room was very dark inside, no real lighting. Need lights in even thought it was nice and sunny. Food is well over priced, £32 for an 8oz steak, £15 for ploughman's with what looked like the picked onions were out of date because they were so dark and soft. Have a work,

Second time we stayed at this location. First time was much better in terms of cleanliness, the room feels like very old (needs refurbishment), we couldn't flush the toilet properly, the bed sheets didn't look very clean, the air conditioning didn't work , we used the fan but still because you cant open the windows the quality of the air in the room was poor. ( I like fresh air coming from outside). I didn't sleep very well. The staff was very nice and kind, gave them 10 points. The dining room was very nice organized, breakfast was very good, lots of selections and everything very fresh. (another 10 points).Elena

The best part of the Mercure Holland Road are the several receptionists who work there. Unfailingly helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Our air con did not work, the desk clerk came to the room (126) and immediately said its broken we will move you to another room". Then we had to wait but despite hen parties moving in we were eventually allocated a bigger room. The restaurant was a disaster. The kitchen could not cope with the number of people

Quite frankly for us it’s the best hotel in Bristol. Location to the river and city centre is brilliant. Large car park for guests. Great bar and dining experience. Superb views from most rooms. it’s a 10/10 from me!

Came here with a tour of 40 people and most people complained about their AC not working. Apparently, other people has complained about this before us so this is a known issue. Highly recommend not to visit the hotel unless this issue is fixed. This is my personal experience. Staff gave 2 conflicting answers (1 said maintenance will come up in 30 mins and that they are fully booked while the manager said maintenance has left for the day and said we can changed room). They are not apologetic at all.Since it was already 10pm and we have unpacked, we asked to preview the new rooms. The two rooms that I tried are marginally cooler but not significant. So we stayed in current rooms and asked for fan instead. Without it, I think I would have melted.Aside from AC, another room experienced a leak near front door.If there’s no AC issues and bad service, the hotel is actually decent. Large room with several accessories; dispenser of still and sparkling water on each floor.
