The Wheel Specialist

The wheels on my eight-year-old Mazda 3 were in a bad way, letting down the appearance of the otherwise decent bodywork. There was quite a bit of blistering, indicating corrosion underneath, and the lacquer was starting to peel in a couple of places. This made it hard to get all dirt out when cleaning and the generally dull surface meant they never stayed clean for very long. Somewhat ironically, I also managed to kerb one of them as I was on my way there to have the wheels assessed and to obtain a quote. This came in cheaper than the other two places I visited (all three had a number of decent write-ups) and the location was the most convenient for me, as the work would inevitably take all day. I dropped the car off at 8am and collected again at 5.15 and could see the difference immediately. The blistering was gone and the sparkle was back. The finish is lovely and smooth to the touch. Dirt no longer clings in the way it did, meaning I can wipe them down once a week with a bit of Showroom Shine (other waterless cleaning products are available) in less than ten minutes. Danny was polite and helpful throughout the process and I am delighted with the results. I could have had the colour or tint altered if desired, but was content enough to stick with a like-for-like refurb.

From the first contact on the phone, then a brief visit to check on the condition of the existing alloys, then the appointment and the actual work taking place- a total delight. I wish that I could show you how they looked before refurbishment but I forgot to take a photo! Corroded and scarred after 6 years, my new tyre slowly deflated due to the build up on the inside of the alloy. Now they are powder coated in gunmetal and look lovely. Great job and The Wheel Specialist are totally recommended! (Not so good at spelling, however! An in-joke for the staff....)

Brillaint job refurbishing my wheels, friendly staff, competitive prices, and a quick turnaround time as well, had all four alloys on my car powder coated from silver to black, dropped off the night before and was ready the next evening. Highly recommend this place for wheel refurbishment in Durham.

Popped by for some advice on diamond cut alloys that are age worn and peeling lacquer. Nice lads in here used them before and seems all the local car dealers use them too very busy workshop.Decided just to powder coat them one colour instead keeping the wheels original lookingGood price , planned an appointment and just dropped off the car first thing and awaited a phone call.Brilliant service collected the car by 3pm and what a lovely jobToo many colours to choose but we went with gloss black .Happy wife easy lifeMany thanks

Customer service was absolutely first class, probably worth 6 stars to be fair. Finish to wheel is top quality, good as new. Happy to reccomend and will certainly use them again.

From the first phone call to the finished wheels the service I got was excellent, everything was explained fully about the process. I dropped my sons car of at 8am & it was ready to pick up the same day, I would 100% recommend them to anybody wanting their wheels done.When we went to pick the car up we couldn't believe how good they looked, probably better than brand new.
