A Royal Retreat of Excellence! Our recent stay at the Royal Hotel in Heysham was nothing short of a regal delight! The staff, from check-in to departure, exemplified the epitome of hospitality. Seamless check-in and a warm escort to our rooms set the tone for a remarkable experience. The rooms were a testament to top-notch refurbishment, boasting quality fixtures and fittings. The ample tea and coffee provisions, along with the thoughtful touch of fresh milk, added a sweet touch to our stay.Alasdair, the General Manager, was a gem during checkout, ensuring our stay met expectations and addressing any concerns. The breakfast was a hearty highlight, served with excellence and a smile. Kudos to the entire team—bar staff, cleaners, and beyond—for making our royal sojourn absolutely fantastic. We're already planning our return to this exquisite haven!

Staff were caring and genuinely helpful. Room was large and well decorated with comfortable super king-size bed. Liked the coffee machine. Great ensuite shower room too. Delicious, generous lunch, dinner and breakfast, wish we could have stayed longer than one night. Heysham village is beautiful with fabulous views. We hope to return.

Found this lovely little gem in Heysham, pet friendly as we had our dog with us on holiday. The location is very nice and quiet. The outdoor seating dons a very nice bar area with lots of tables and chairs. Probably 200m away from the beach. We walked the promenade to Morecambe, and it was a very nice walk. The promenade is wide and spacious. The sea and the beach are lovely with views across to the Lake District mountains. Awesome. The rooms are spacious (we had a dog friendly room) the bar was nicely set up for breakfast. No buffet but menus to order from. As it is a fairly small hotel ( 11 ensuite rooms), we were greeted immediately by our name just by walking through the hotel doors. Very nice...

A fabulous 2 day trip thanks to The Royal at Heysham and to the team. The arrived fairly late to a warm welcome and an offer of fresh milk for our coffee machine. The room was lovely, clean and fresh. After a 5 hr drive from Somerset, The Royal was well worth the Drive. The next morning we enjoyed a great tasting breakfast in the characterful dining room, served by the friendly team. Then we are off to explore the Lakes. We had lunch in the lakes and decided to eat at the Royal, as it's always busy, we should have booked ahead, but not to worry, we readied to sample the menu outside in the lovely Bar Garden under the patio heaters, to our surprise the Manager has sorted us a table inside :) awesome !The food was fantastic, the stay was too, we will be going back,Try the Royal at Heysham I would thoroughly recommend a stay.

Great place to stay. Good sized rooms with tasteful decor and comfortable beds. Coffee pod machine and fans provided. Nice staff. Good quality and very generous meals - superb bacon and the lasagne was great - they said it was local butcher’s meat and you could really tell it was excellent quality. Lovely location very near the amazing views of Morecambe bay. Large free car park.

Great place to stay, first class service and really good value. The restaurant menu has a wide range of options to suit all tastes. The staff are very attentive and looked after us extremely well. The standards of housekeeping throughout both inside and out are exceptional.

Quite big disapointment for me and family, Sunday evening service and a lot of starters out of the menu. Staff not present behind the bar 10 min when present give you impression of being unhappy to serve you. Food tasty although my son's burger was sad and dry. The hotel, pub and garden area are beautiful and done with attention to the detail but service is poor.

Steak pie was very good. Service was good and prompt. The Royal was very close the cottage we had rented for 2 weeks and we had the opportunity to eat there on three occasions with each meal being filling and tasty.

Nice environment, lighting etc.Shame there's only Twaites beers on hand pull.Bit pricey for what you get. I mean just look at that burger.Pie was nice and homemade with good jug of gravy. Veg was just greens and could have done with something else with it like, well any other coloured veg.Burgers were a bit embarrassing given how nice the rest of the place is.Just look at the woeful presentation.Basically a pub with nice seats and standard pub menu.Oh, did I mention the burgers?
