Hotel needs alot more care and attention. Room number 5 here has a mouldy bathroom which you can smell when you walk in the room, also the floor is slippy with socks on and you need to be careful. The above bath shower in the room was terrible, it was either red hot or completely cold (gave up). Thick dust above the headboard in the room clearly not been touched for a long time. The blinds in the room were broken, disgusting, and need changing asap. Only good points here are the staff are friendly, beds were comfortable, and it's in a good location not to far from the town centre. Those aside I would definitely not stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay here. The owner is really nice guy we got on well.The restaurant was unfortunately closed but he gave me some advice on places to go.Breakfast was good!

We didn't stop in this Hotel, we stopped at Stewart Hall Guest House a couple of minutes walk away and owned by the same people, came here each Morning for Breakfast. Breakfast was buffet stye help yourself and was absolutely spot on every morning, staff were constantly on the go cleaning tables and bringing out fresh food. Would recommend.

The lovely staff really made our stay special. The rooms were nice and comfortable and clean, maybe a bit dated but adds character I think! Would definitely stay there next time we are up in Scotland!

I had a great 2 night stay here. The rooms are well appointed, ensuite bathroom has been modernized. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast is great, good selection of food and gets you going for your day ahead. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a great stay.

Nice hotel. Great from the exterior but could do with some updating in the rooms. We stayed in the family room which was very spacious and comfortable, however right above the kitchen/dinning room and we could hear the music each morning at 06:30/07:00 which was slightly annoying but not much of a downer as the music was the easy going variety. The main downside is the bathroom. Not fussed that the shower was in the bath, however a non slip surface in the bath would be a good idea as I slipped and bashed my head on the wall. Apart from that no problems

The Caledonian is very tired. Our room had the biggest bird poo on the window and had been there for sometime!! My father stayed in a Superior double room. What a joke that was....two double beds in it but wardrobe door was missing the shower was dirty and the toilet seat was cheap and nasty and it did not match the suite.Breakfast was fried, yogurt or a little fruit salad with toast. No continental offered ie. Pastries, cheese etc. Overall was very disappointing.

I have only ever been here for a function, but the service every time is outstanding. This time was unfortunate circumstances, a funeral. I thought I would express how amazing the staff are at making the difficult day an easier and stress free experience. The buffet as always is fantastic, the staff always on hand to be professional.

Called for drinks after missing out on getting a table at Bruno's Italian Restaurant.Thursday 8.15pm, friendly service and nice pint of Belhaven n Small bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.Guests at the hotel who also failed to get a table at Bruno's were kindly allowed to bring in chippy meals.
