I had a very disappointing experience with Oakley Veterinary Practice recently. I entrusted them to handle my pet insurance claim, but was shocked to find out that they mishandled it and attempted to blame my insurance company for their mistake. This is unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour. Not only did they make errors in the claim, but they also failed to provide adequate coverage for my pet's hospital stay. Despite their mistakes, they did not offer to cover the additional costs or help us fix the problem, which left me feeling even more frustrated and disappointed.I am deeply disappointed with their lack of professionalism and would not recommend this veterinary practice to others. It is clear that they prioritise their own interests over their clients' well-being. I urge others to exercise caution when entrusting them with their pet's care and insurance claims.

My cat was very unwell. However, we were told she had weeks left. She was eating well and drinking water again after a visit to Active Vetcare's out-of-hours service situated in Maidenhead, who administered pain relief. Upon arrival at Oakley Vets, she was in good spirits, purring.A staff member approached and notified us that they needed to take her 'through to the back.' After a while, we wondered what was happening. When we got to where she was, she was still in her carrier. The vet in question was very rough opening her box. We were told, Get her out onto the table." Our cat was subdued and noticeably anxious at this point. The vet then proceeded to give her a pill that had fallen onto the floor on several occasions. I was both shocked and appalled. When my cat arrived home

Our cat of 17 years was put to sleep at Oakley Vets this afternoon. It was emotionally extremely difficult for us as a family, but all staff were absolutely fantastic. Caring, empathic and took such good care of our us and our poorly bug. Thank you so much. We will never forget

Whilst the reception staff are very helpful and polite, I find the vets are rude! Not sure how capable they are as they can’t even clip a small dogs nails so if anything serious probably look at another vets.

I booked a procedure with Oakley Road Vets and asked multiple times if they did direct insurance claims with my insurer, as the fee was in the 4 figure realm. I gave my insurer by name, both times I was told they do direct claims with them. After calling them again 2 days before the procedure was due to happen, I was told this was not a possibility as they do not do direct claims with my insurer. I had come to that conclusion myself, as I was told I would need a claim form from my insurer, only to be told by my insurer that they no longer use claim forms. I was told Oakley Road Vets could email the insurer directly instead to make a claim, or they can use the portal they should have access to.I have also been asking them to look at my pets eye on 3 occasions, from 8 weeks old up to 6 months old. I could blatantly see an issue but my worries were ignored and I was told everything was fine. On my last appointment I was told there is an issue with his eye and my pup would need to see a specialist.Honestly, I've had nothing but lies, incompetence and deceit from this vets. Thank god I figured this out before a major procedure was needed. Have moved him to a vet out of the area, as they run the one in sonning common also.AVOID AT ALL COSTSUPDATEI have taken my pup to a new vets and the vet instantly said he had cataracts in his eye, without even pulling out a device to look at it in further detail. They said he would have been born with it. The level of incompetence from Oakley Road vets is insane, I mentioned this 3-4 times since he was 10 weeks old to them! It took another vet 10 seconds to confirm, while Oakley road told me everything was fine.

When we brought Maui home at 8 weeks old, there was no question as to where we would register him! Having spent time doing work experience at the practice as a teenager, I know it to be professional and caring. All the staff are always welcoming, helpful and knowledgable.Maui loves going to Oakley Vets! He recently went in to be neutered and still jumped at the door and greeted all the vets and nurses with delight upon return two days later for his post op check - that’s all I need to see to know that he is well cared for :)

I had to rush my dog in to these wonderful vets in an emergency, despite not being registered with them. They were ready and waiting in the car park. Every member of staff seemed to be on hand to help, not just with the dog, but me and my 1 year old son who were both in the car park and very shaken, one staff member even gave my son a packet of crisps that I'm sure were her own lunch. the treatment my dog received was incredible, and the staff absolutely faultless, I truly can not thank them all enough.
