A family member who was advised by a paramedic whose ambulance was delayed to go to this hospital, went to a&e with a suspected stroke was told by the receptionist that they couldnt admit them they had to go to another hospital which is almost 30minutes away !! The nhs is in turmoil and a decent receptionist needs to be considered, for the unwell people going in .

The care given to my mother from A&E was exemplary. She was seen and admitted very quickly. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The wards are very well run. In the days of the NHS being in such a mess, this hospital is an example of how things should be done.

Been here 7 hours with chest pains and pneumonia and not even had ecg, blood tests, nothing. Being run like a bunch of cowboys in charge.Disgusted in thier unprofessional attitude. More concerned in taking cigarette breaks, than seeing to patients.

Ward 20 - RGH.I implore anyone who gets admitted to this ward or a relative of theirs does to avoid or seek a reallocation to another ward.To say the treatment my mother experienced here was neglectful is an understatement. She was relocated here following a bout of pneumonia after her stroke. She was admitted to the ward undergoing rehabilitation and was slowly but surely regaining strength to walk again. The nursing staff at ward 20 not only undid her hard work, but misled us and the discharge team in relation to her mobility needs. My mother’s discharge was deemed as unsafe by social services, her care provider and doctor. We were misled regarding her mobility needs, which led to insufficient equipment being provided for her discharge. A report was written by the nursing staff and supported by a discharge social worker that was completely false. This caused a lot of distress and suffering for my mother upon her discharge into her home until the correct equipment could be ordered. There’s so much more I could say and whilst I appreciate the NHS is stretched, the attitude and lack of compassion we experienced from the staff here is unforgivable and led to the decline in my mother’s health.I cannot express this enough, avoid this ward where possible and don’t let anyone you love be admitted here. (I had to give 1 star to post a review - but I wish I didn’t have to even state it as that)

A and e after school as son jumped a fence on way to bus and landed badly on his knee. Triage straight away, then straight round to X-ray. 20-30 mins later dr called him in. Home within 2 hours. Amazing NHS and very grateful to all the lovely staff on this evening

Fantastic staff in the Colonoscopy mobile unit, who are so very helpful and polite. They care about their patients and respond positively. Perhaps they could provide customer service training to outpatients receptionists.

From the moment I was promptly and safely brought into A+E by a first class Ambulance team the staff I met in every department were fist class and above . Every single person was polite and helpful with first class knowledge of their role.Yes OK they were busy and could do with more staff to help, but the staff in every department treated me great. I never heard a moan or grumble about the job from anyone. They did unfortunately hear me screaming out with pain and I am sure that I taught them new swear words too,so I apologise for that ,but I wa in pain. Cleaning staff were impeccable in keeping the hospital clean and tidy. The food staff all very clean and hygienic. If anyone complains about the food being horrible well in my opinion they are lieing it is spot on and decent portions too . I was concerned with the size portions being on the fat side myself I thought I'd have to send out for supplies to keep me going....not the case ample amount. The consultants, doctors and nurses will stop to enquire about your health even if you are not under their care. The ones who are responsible for your current health will discuss it with you and assure you of your outcome.I found this to be the same when I transferred to the university hospital in Cardiff for a few days before I came back to the Royal glamorgan. If I was a hotel inspector then the hospital would be a 5 star . I have an extended stay this time for extra surgery. Thanks to everyone at cardiology with Dr Ellis and his team. The entire orthopaedic team together with the anaesthetic team. Staff in intensive care, the high dependent unit, ward 2 my panic level were kept low . All the catering staff for a great job. The cleaning team, porters I can go on and on so thanks again to everyone who looked after me. Keep up the good work

My Mother in Law (Alzheimer's and Diabetes sufferer) went in to Royal Glamorgan after refusing to eat and take meds. She went in 2 months ago and since has received the worst care I have ever seen for a patient. She is not able to feed herself or take her own medication, so it was the carer's that was helping do it when at home. While she was in the Hospital, they would just put the food on a table and then leave her, she had her medication reduced to the point it wasn't working correctly, and they would only give her the sedatives rather than all of her meds. Every time we went to visit, she would be comatose after taking the meds. Her food would be still sat there cold and no nurse would ever be seen trying to feed her. Eventually the nurses expected us to feed her and give her her meds (when we realised they had cut them down) as she has suffered from Diabetes for over 20 years, we are used to giving a set amount to her, but as she isn't being fed and given her meds her blood sugar levels were on the floor most days. They have just sent her to another hospital and they have confirmed the level of care" has been very poor. She was given enough meds (sedatives) for the journey that after two days she is still not right. Her blood sugar was tested and it was 1.4 (should be around 6.0) and she has lost alot of weight. The care she has received is quiet simply neglect. Worst care I've seen in my life

Required the A & E Sunday 27th August and a follow up on Thursday 7th September due to falling on my shoulder. The service I received was fantastic and deserves every accolade that can be bestowed upon them.worth every one of the 5 stars.
