John is friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to answer any questions and everything was promptly arranged so immediately felt in safe hands. I had a problem with the chain slipping, it was not seating properly. John took it away and fixed this plus a few other problems. He was efficient and completed the work quickly testing the bike before he brought it back. The bike now works the best it has for years !Would certainly thoroughly recommend Cycle Tech Uk to anyone looking for a friendly and first rate service.

I have used John to sort a number of issues on my road bike over the last few years from changing bottom brackets, replacing spokes, front drive chain, disc brakes. His service and knowledge have been 1st class, and the prices very reasonable. He recently turn round a service on my TT bike at exceptionally short notice which allowed me to compete in a COVID-19 friendly event.

From personal experience, steer clear, shocking aftercare service.Had my winter bike serviced, new brakes, new chain and gears indexed, admittingly I didn’t use the bike for many months and only when I took the bike out last weekend did I realise a fault with the gears slipping an issue that didn’t exist previously.Unfortunately no desire to correct their faulty workmanship and expected me to pay a call out charge and any associated cost for any repairs....SHOCKING SERVICE !!!

Took my bikes to John to fix under the Govt Bike fix scheme. One need a brake lever correcting or replacing. He managed to make a temporary fix on this. My other bike was a Trek MTB (£4k new) that had modern discs / hydraulic brake setup. They were making a screeching noise and i wanted this correcting. I gave him a brand new set of pads that he could use if he couldn't correct the problem through adjustment / bleeding. He told me that he had fixed the issue and bedded in the existing pads on the rear wheel. He returned the bikes to me and again assured me that they were fixed and i trusted him that this was true. When he left i tested the bike and found that the brakes were still screeching and they were in fact worse than when i handed the bike over to him. He did not even attempt to use the brand new brake pads i had given him which he handed back to me. He also charged me £25 for a safety check" that was not mentioned until the moment i dropped my bike at his house. This was on top of the £100 pound he billed to the Govt cycle scheme. Absolutely nothing was corrected or changed on this Trek MTB despite what he had stated. I have since taken my bike to a reputable cycle mechanic who fixed the rear brake back to new condition and corrected a few issues that John's "safety check" never picked up on. If i had the time and the courts were not already clogged up i would be taking this to the small claims court as a matter of principal. Something that John seems to be devoid of. I would recommend you find someone else if you have an expensive bike that is a bit more complex than a cheap bike with cable brakes. He also would not pick up the phone to discuss the issue as he obviously knew the bike was not fixed and he could not fix the problem."

I’ve been cycling for about 5 years and confess that I’d never had my Giant Defy road bike serviced before. It really hadn’t been running well for a while with very noisy gear-changes and an annoying click as I peddled.I went for John’s Silver Service and I can’t believe the difference since I got the bike back.It needed a new chain and bottom bracket. It is seriously like riding a new bike, the gears now work perfectly and change incredibly smoothly, the annoying click has gone and my bike is now finally adjusted correctly to my size.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend John who I found very pleasant to deal with and very professional and relaxed in the way he carried out the repairs and service. He also shared a number of great cycling and maintenance tips.I’ll be coming back regularly from now on - cheers John, very appreciated.

I took in my trainer bike for a service as it gets used every day and was making all sorts of noises. John sorted the problem quickly and effectively, apparently it was the chain that had stretched, which he replaced very quickly. It is now in tip top condition, sounding and feeling very smooth.... great job and a very pleasant person to boot, great to deal with and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Really happy with the service . It comes down to the personal service where you know that the guy servicing your bike has taken the time to do it properly and explain exactly what he has done . Having previously used far more expensive service options from big bike retailer in Milton Keynes it was a welcome change to use this local guy. Highly recommend.

100% happy with Cycle Tech. I have quite and old mountain bike which was a bank account buster when I bought it but many yrs later maybe not worth spending out on. Gear shifts were poor, chain kept dropping, couldn't get the lowest few cogs on the rear cassette blah blah usual age related issues the bike was either going to the tip or just staying in the garage. I gave the little machine a chance, googled a few bike mechs and ping: I got my bike back and I am over the moon. Good value for a thorough service and a new cassette. Cycle Tech guy was honest didn't do any major work without consulting me first . Highly recommend. I got a 3k road bike too so I know where it's going when it needs a service ;-)
