The crescent used to be excellent but after our last few visits it is a shame to say it is awful. Really really unclean, dilapidated, bad beer, unloved... the same die-hard locals drinking day in and day out but aside from that the crescent has lost all its charmsnew owner and renovation please!

Good selection of ales, lots of guest ales. Lived in feel to pub. Good atmosphere, mix of locals and students.

Authentic Salford boozer. Open mic night every Thursday open to anyone from 8.30pm. Friendly crowd. Great pub!

The crescent has gone dramatically downhill since gerry took overthe place reeks of urine. there was a man urinating on his own shoes in the 'toilet'.the beer was atrocious and gerry was very grumpy and smashing things all over the placeits miserable

I went for the first time yesterday, what a cracking pub. Friendly and welcoming staff behind the bar, really cheerful regulars and a great selection of ales, ciders and spirits. I've passed the place for years without popping in, I can't believe what I've been missing.

Good traditional pub with selection of real ales. Friendly clientelle with open mike sessions. Real fire in winter. If you want glitz bling false decor don't bother but what was good enough for Marx and Engels who allegedly drank here it should be good enough for you.

Really disappointed it used to be full of life but was different I was told by the landlord to keep my voice down when I was on the phone?? I was not loud in the first place £3.50 Amstel don't go here unless you have to

An excellent choice of real ale. A friendly atmosphere and a good mixture of customers, young and old. A good choice of whiskey too!

In an area where pubs are dying out fast. Those that remain are awful. This is the only one worth considering for atmosphere and fair prices. It is in key position on main road near Cathedral and a ten minute walk into central Manchester.
