The Lock Gates Cafe
Enjoyed having coffee here several times. The staff are friendly and efficient. Only one criticism last time I visited the coffee and cakes were brought out quickly but there was a delay before the pancake arrived.

Delicious food on offer with unique flavours. Although we sat outside due to it being full inside, the general vibe of the cafe was still really warm and welcoming.Will definitely be returning when we need a breakfast or lunch spot in Bude.

The Lock Gates Cafe
Lovely pot of tea! However very disappointing Cornish Cream tea. The scones were too crumbly and broke up when we tried to spread our jam and cream on them and it would have been nicer if the jam and cream had been served in china matching the teapot, jugs and cups instead of disposable pots. Should have been strawberry jam but it was raspberry. More attention to detail needed. I would have expected more in such a lovely location. The staff were friendly and pleasant but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone for a Cornish cream tea.

The Lock Gates Cafe
Visited here for a cream tea. It was half an hour before closing time. The staff seemed the most miserable people I've ever come across; three girls who couldn't be grumpier. They clearly couldn't wait to get away. 10 minutes before closing the 'Henry' hoover came out and a bucket and mop placed right in front of us. I appreciate that it was nearing closing time but it's no excuse to drop standards. We were very happy with the food and drink.

Drinks ok. Ordered cornish breakfast which took about 45mins to come. Was barely warm. Toast should have been wholemeal but came white and was hardly toasted. Eggs hard. Small tomatoes fried on vine stalk so couldn't get off. Generally very poor.

Love going to the Lock Gates Cafe, best espresso in town and the best Sausage Roll just as good as the National Trust Cafe's, service fantastic and a great atmosphere inside and out, dog friendly as well.

Lovely staff, really accommodating and helpful with people with allergy restrictions (gluten free). Tasty food, well priced, lovely atmosphere. Can't rate highly enough!

An hour wait for scrambled eggs and a toastie! Staff were doing their best but that's ridiculous for the quality of food they offer. We had to get the food to go in the end.
