Western General Hospital

My recent appointment at the Western General for a Colonoscopy was excellent & exceptionally efficient from the moment I arrived. All the staff, ie Carol-Anne, Karen & Dr Manning to name a few were very professional, empathetic & caring. Thanks to all.

misdiagnosed, poor communication between staff. ended up flying abroad where i received correct diagnosis and treatment.

Great hospital with exceptional staff. Doctors and nurses were very caring, understanding and informative with me to the point of arranging for other specialists to come and have a chat with me and discuss my options. Special mention for all the hardworking staff and nurses in Ward 75, 53 and 23, they are absolute gems and amazing at what they do.

I have been going to have physiotherapy on my shoulder at General Western for roughly 6 months. I was seen by Karen, who, from our first session was always extremely positive about me regaining full motion of my arm. She gave me various simple exercises and slowly but surely my muscles have ‘ remembered’ their jobs! Highly recommend Karen and the department.

I attended A and E at The Western recently having a vertigo attack. From the paramedics in the ambulance to the staff in the hospital they couldn’t have been any kinder or more professional. They put me at ease and explained everything thoroughly without any fuss.

I went to the urology unit on the 30th. July to have a blocked catheter cleared, and because of the bleeding I was kept in. I was taken to ward 57. I was greeted with professionalism and friendliness and recognised from a previous visit a few weeks earlier. On the 6th. August I was transferred to Ward 56, again a similar greeting, I had a procedure then an operation. I was discharged on the 9th. August, from the onset I was impressed by every member of staff on the two wards, doctors, nurses, tea ladies and cleaners. We’ll done everyone, many thanks From Michael Bowman.

I would give more stars if i could for my consultant i have seen him for 16 years now he just the best excellent i used to be very nervous going to see him dont like hospitals no complaints at all he just excellent and just the best please please dont ever retire .

Their patience and willingness to answer my questions put me at ease, alleviating any anxiety I had.Moreover, the staff's politeness and compassion were truly remarkable. They treated me with the utmost respect and empathy, making me feel like more than just a patient.
