Very friendly staff and nice selection of food. By the river, which is a nice bonus and big carpark!

A good medium sized Coop. Had everything we needed, and no empty spaces on the shelves.

Poorly run store, too many lines but very little of any of them. There are too many empty spaces where insufficient stock has been ordered. Great staff let down by poor management.

Some of the staff are not very pleasant at all. Not much of a selection. Wish they had opened a Tescos or Morrison's instead.

All Co-ops are nice but this one is excellent! Very well managed, tidy well stocked shelves. Everything you need in one place. AND a Post Office in store. Decent prices. Large car park for easy parking.

All card machines out of order but only 1 A4 notice explaining issue outside. Thus I had to queue outside at the ATM - then some older employee seemed to think it was somehow MY FAULT for this issue - for her making people wait for my return at the kiosk (as she did not know how to pause a transaction!!!) for NOBODY telling me on entry there was an issue and I had no NO APOLOGY - in fact she rolled her eyes as thought I was a liar. (she claimed there was signs everywhere - the CCTV will prove she was a liar or mistaken) This 'employeee' is nearing retirement age - I suggest she puts her feet up as I generally spend 25 to £40 a day in this VERY EXPENSIVE so called supermarket. I expect better service especially when YOUR problems become MY PROBLEMS and blamed on me. I have passed this pathetic episode onto HQ for them to check their CCTV as I do NOT like being hinted that I was somehow a liar.I am also, probaby like others, sick and tired of running the gauntlet of Big Issue sellers, I get asked EVERY DAY but not only going in - he also repeats the beg when I am coming OUT!!! This is uncomfortable to say the least. I am perfectly able to buy The Big Issue online now - I do not need a guit trip every day. It's madness and very unusual.....never happens anywhere else!! Your prices are HIGH enough without an extra burdon. I will keep asking our MP for another cheaper supermarket in this town like Aldi as there are many pensioners here who HAVE to shop here - they have NO choice and in this day and age and the most expensive supermarket in the UK (co-op). It's not fair on them and I feel now this place has had its day - we need choice in Manningtree.Good day.

The shop is OK and has a good variety of food and goods, it's nice to see that they also have a post office and a travel agents. Unfortunately, it is very expensive in here, and does not represent good value for me personally, ie a tube of pringles is over £2 in here but in other shops they are very commonly £1.50! Same applies to other items

Manningtree Co-op is the size of a warehouse so there's no excuse for a limited range of stock, however there's not much more than is typical of Co-op Local branches. Supposedly there's an on-site bakery, but I've been past dozens of times first thing in the morning & I've NEVER smelt baking (as you do from the Dovercourt Co-op). Also, even if you go in as soon as it opens, all the bakery items on the shelves are stone cold. The worst thing is the supposedly QUICK kiosk-checkout for those with only several items. It's usually the slowest option as one of the local-yokel's is typically rude enough to jump the queue on the pretext of being old, then start some ridiculously long winded transaction over a single lottery ticket or obscure size of vapes. (The WORST was a woman shopping for half a dozen others wanting each transaction till receipted, despite paying with 1 note for £20)

Really like this Co-op. Decent selection, friendly staff, post office. Not the biggest supermarket but bigger than your usual Co-op in the high street. Lovely local feel.
