My son Tiego just turn 15 year old and just joined 3 weeks ago thr Academy Aviation, before I come to Academy Aviation I visit many diferente schools for my son to take is PPL and from the first moment I meet Eddy and is team I got a really nice feeling , they made us feel so welcome , they look after my Tiego like a member of family and not like just a student, that has no price. When I was researching various flying schools to begin my aviation journey, I was always left with many observation. However, when I got to Academy Aviation and had my first meeting with Eddie, all my questions were answered to more than what I expected and I could see that he really cared for his students. Academy Aviation is an exceptional flying school that truly transformed my journey into the world of aviation. The experienced instructors provide to-notch training, ensuring seamless learning experience. Terry is my instructor and I couldn’t ask for a better one. He has built my confidence and my ability to becoming a future skilled pilot. The school has a variety of well maintained aircraft, ranging from the Tecnams, Cessna 152 and the Piper Warriors PA28. At the school there is a great environment of like minded people from students, graduates to instructors, that would go out of their way to help you, couple this with the the facilities that they have made available like the simulators, you now have an environment conductive to mastering the art of flying. I am on my way to obtaining my PPL license, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the expertise and support I’ve received. Highly recommend.

Academy Aviation is foremost an amazing flight training school (with genuinely awesome instructors), but it also holds its own as a flying club too. Having first obtained my PPL 15 years ago at a different school, I had no clue what to do with it and my flying petered out to the point where my licence lapsed and I never renewed it. What a waste! During lockdown I decided to start up again but was conscious to only learn in a place with a community where I could make co-pilot buddies to fly with. Academy is that place! We have school fly outs (last one to Le Touquet in France), dinners together, BBQs at the airfield, a WhatsApp chat so you can interact with other Pilots at the school. You can get involved as much or as little as you like, thats the beauty of Academy :)

This is for anyone who wants to start their aviation journey and looking for an absolute right place. Eddie and his team are out there at aviation academy to make it happen. Terry is a brilliant instructor and was the reason that I personally chose this school. It can be very challenging to find a right place to do it as this journey can be quite challenging. Very knowledgeable and passionate to help every single one of us as a student to achieve our goals in this industry. Very confident to say I highly recommend our Academy.

Recently completed a night rating with academy aviation flying out of Southend Airport which was amazing.Great instruction from Terry and a great support network in the process from Peter.I would 100% recommend!

After a 2 year Hiatus from flying as a qualified PPL License Holder, I was searching for a school to renew my Single Engine Piston Class Rating and deviated from my normal choice of school on the basis of a FB conversation from a current student at Academy Aviation. More specifically the recommendation on the 'Instructor' by the name of Terry Moss.Naturally apprehensive about being with a new school, new instructor and not having flown for 2 years, I was expecting the day not to go my way. I had 2 slots booked and the morning being cancelled due to bad weather so not a good start (typical winter ops).. but I made my way 1 hour early for the 1300 flight and found the school and was greeted with a smile by Terry.We had a good relaxed informal chat in a nice warm space and looked through the documents and briefed about the airspace changes. The relaxed personable nature of Terry helped calm the nerves and helped me zone into that it will be just like flying with a friend and not an instructor..We did some general handling in the training area and his instruction was clear and concise in between a friendly chat. No aggression and it was superb flying with him. I have taught many students and professionals in my current profession and I value good quality instructors, as it is harder than it looks and is certainly not easy being an instructor in any field..so top job and kudos to the man himself and instructional technique..I have no doubt I will continue with Academy Aviation to renew my license and as a solo hire for aircraft and potentially more.. I am just finding the passion again so the sky literally is the limit. The place feels homely and a 'club' and 'community' & 'social' like feel where collaboration is welcomed and privacy is also respected.For anyone just starting out in their training, I don't think you can go far wrong with Academy Aviation. The team there seem to be doing good things to ensure the aviation journey or path to the flight deck is achievable for all.Keep up the good work AA. 5* from me..I seldom leave reviews but this one is merited... Brilliant. School. Very professional and always willing to help students who need a bit more help learning subjects. The owner is very friendly and always happy to share his experiences when it comes to flying. They also offer ground schooling as often as they can. Instructors are very professional, experienced and great to have a laugh with. Very happy with the school.

If you are thinking about going for your PPL as a recreational or career pilot then Academy Aviation is a great place to start. The passion and experience that Eddie and the team have is just fantastic. Always encouraging and it's clear they want to turn out great pilots not just get people through the course.
