The Souk

Great vintage shop with some lovely stuff and a very friendly owner - after we'd shopped there we went and got some lunch up the street, which was takeaway only because of the Covid rules. It was pouring down so I popped back into Souk to see if it would be OK to use the little table outside for our food and drinks while we ate. The lady said no problem and even came outside and dried the table and chairs off for us, which was very kind.

It’s such a cool shop but it’s expensive. Bought a dress that is torn and has odd buttons. Paid way over what I should, my fault for not checking. Also bought a ring that was, unfortunately, a total rip off, it turns my finger green, sliver has rubbed off and it’s snapped. It’s a shame.

Great shop with a lovely helpful lady that sold me a Silver Medallion today, I always pop in when in Haworth. The Souk is a well established veritable treasure trove of fashion and miscellaneous treasures.

Absolute disgrace. I was apauld by our treatment. I wanted to purchase a jacket at the price that was clearly labelled on the jacket when I got to the till the woman said it was over triple the price it was labelled as. Excusing the mistake by reassuring it was her friends jacket and that she wanted that amount for it. She tried to blatantly scam us into purchasing the jacket for more than the clearly written asking price. Instead of honouring customer rights and allowing us to purchase the jacket for the price it was labelled led as she insisted on the price her friend wanted to get for it. In the lovely town of Haworth I thought it a disgrace to the history and culture of the town that this shop owner should be so rude. Very disappointed. Hope it is bought by someone who knows how to treat people. And to think I would have happily bought vintage clothes from there often had she not been so distasteful.

I do like looking in this shop. It is an Aladdin's cave. My friend was looking for a 60's outfit and the lady brought out two kaftans. I only said to him are they 60s or 70s? She very quickly jumped down my throat and told me she had worked for the costume department of the BBC and if somebody asked for a 60s outfit she wouldnt bring something out that wasn't 60's. I was a bit surprised and said I wasn't criticising I was just asking (having not really lived through the 60's). She replied saying she was fed up of the negativity. We promptly walked out of the shop and she lost the sale. How rude! We will not be returning. What an obnoxious woman...... get some lessons in customer service or retire and let someone with manners run the shop!

Very disappointed in the customer service me and my mother received in this shop. The old woman was very rude, I picked up a dress which was 'sold', the woman came over and very rudely told me that the dress was sold and said that there was a very obvious label on the item, to my knowledge, there was NO label on the item otherwise I would have NOT picked it up and started looking at the dress. She then continued to go on and say that all of the stuff right at the back was either sold or she used it for other things, another thing I did NOT know. She snatched the dress out of my hand and said I don't mind to certain extent." We were about to spend £95.00 on a suit

Why shop at The Souk? Because you can depend on real value for money when it comes to their vintage items of clothing. After visiting yesterday I couldn't be happier with my vintage wool and cashmere cream overcoat, another one for the collection!But that's not all, the service was extremely friendly and helpful when looking around the shop and trying different items of clothing on. And what do you get at The Souk that you (probably) don't get anywhere else? An impersonator of Al Bowlly himself, singing tunes of the 30s live! Thanks for the CD Paul!
