Stay for business, reception and restaurant staff are great, the breakfast is top notch.Gym is fine, but lifts often broken or slow, security in reception needed due to proximity to cabot circus subway which has become unsafe at times. The rooms are quite dated, noisy aircon, flickering lights, smoke smell in a few.The car park next door is a nightmare and too expensive typically NCP. Park elsewhere.

The staff are mostly polite but very short on staff and have no maintenance person on call for night time emergencies.I had no electricity the first night I stayed here and was left without. The food was very limited in the food room.A few days later , I found a mouldy dish in my mini fridge.Day 10 I had a leak coming from my bathroom light and was told they could do nothing the next day. I was given a key for a hotel room 2 doors down which would mean either leaving my autistic 8 year old alone or my 3 year old, depending on who needed to use the loo.I am a single mother in a very vulnerable position and I feel they could have done more as the building is in disrepair in the areas most dont see. The security guard was inappropriate when it came to my 3 year old and used his camera on her without my permission.I wouldn't see that I've had the best experience at the bond street holiday inn.

Great staff and nice hotel. The staff really were amazing and we ate at the restaurant three nights. The quality of the food was excellent. There are some refugee families on a floor, not for hotel guests. The families kept themselves to themselves but were quite friendly. There was no issue. Great short break

This is the second time I have started at this property. Each time there is a small glitch which makes my reviews lose a star, but on the whole I would probably return again. Last time (18 months ago) there was no hot water in the room on the 1st night. This time I was allocated a room (722) with the door to the bathroom that did not close (stayed 1cm open). Bianca at reception transferred us to another room (714) where at least the door closed even if the latch did not totally shut the door. I think all the glass doors to the bathrooms on the 7th floor rooms (those rooms with balcony) are problematic and they should just be replaced with a normal door and normal lock. It’s a pity that it’s still a shower-bath combo on those rooms, but if I have to choose between the balcony (can leave the door open) or the more claustrophobic rooms with modern showers, I will stay with the balcony. The bathroom could do with a toilet brush. Breakfast was very good. The bear pit is an embarrassment to Bristol (tents for homeless people, and human excrement!) but otherwise the hotel is well located.
