Townmead Road Re-use and Recycling Centre

I was very pleased with everything…Mr Nigel was very professional, patient, polite and nice. If everybody was like him the world was perfect place. The site is very clean and everything is well organised

20.09.2020Update:The council have introduced a booking system. Go on to their website, it's fairly straight forward, but popular!______________________________________________I have been using theses facility's for a number if years and have observed many changes for the better.The centre was closed for a bit during early stages of the pandemic. Thankfully its now open and fully operational.The council have set up a fantastic system, they have put good measures in place to keep to the 2 metre distance.There is an on going traffic que, it can take up to an hour waiting, which l am happy about. They have good traffic patrol in place. We as residents need to practice good old fashion patients.The team that are directing and controlling traffic are keeping everything flowing. The team at the site have been amazing and helpful to customers. Also just to warn if you are hopping to offload a mass of rubble, that is not part of your monthly quota you will have to pay a fee, their really on the case, so be warned.I know it's a weird time for everyone, but l am so glad they have this place up and running.

Always receive excellent service from all your site staff particularly the chap in the entrance gate kiosk. Well done and thanks for a professional service

Great for getting rid of your rubbish but definitely not a re use place. We wanted to take a lamp shade a small plant holder and were told that's against the rules and made to out them back in the skip. What a waste. So many useable items were ther. Recycling is great but re use is even better. Our landfills are overflowing already!Oh and I have not seen a sign saying don't take anything so perhaps the mean bloke was having A bad day..

The staff are great, but in the past they would put aside pieces of furniture, antiques and toys etc which were almost new. They no longer do this, which is so wasteful. Every time I've gone I've seen almost brand new things thrown away and be crushed. It would take no time to take these things out and let people purchase them for charity as they do in other recycling centres around the country. Don't call yourselves a 'Re-use and Recycling Centre' if you are going to be so wasteful. This is not what the world needs at the moment, it's like we've gone back to the 70's.

Extremely clean and efficient!!! Have to pre-book which is such a great idea. No waiting in lines to enter. In & out in 5 minutes.

We cant praise the staff enough, having cleared extensive rubbish from a property following a bereavement disposing of this with a hire van was a very smooth process. Nigel was extremely sensitive and provided the much needed human interaction giving us one less hurdle to face in a horrible process. Further staff were equally supportive what a great asset they are to this facility..

The layout is great and generally well maintained and you can get rid of almost everything from books to beds to garden refuse. Unfortunately they have a silly online booking system they never had before and it makes it a hassle. It always worked well enough pre-COVID but they seem intent on keeping the booking system in place... So it loses a star
