Ride Scotland

After having lunch at the boat inn my partner and I decided to take a look at e-bikes in Ride Scotland cycle shop. We wheeled our cycles the short distance over there and were just parking them, in the cycle racks, when we were approached by a man on a bike. He rudely said to park our bikes at the pub as his hire bikes were due back shortly, taken aback, I explained that we were about to go into his shop but because of his attitude we would not now bother. He said it was fine to visit the shop but that people parked there and were gone hours ( really!). My partner said maybe place a sign up saying hire bikes only in that rack. I was annoyed that he didn’t bother to find out if we were visiting the store before telling us to park on someone else’s property, not very professional or helpful. We had hired 2 e-bikes and were so impressed by them that we are now looking at buying 2, but not from this store.In reply to your comments, there was nothing polite in the way you said ‘can you park at the pub?’, I would not expect to be told to park at another person’s business when I was visiting a different one!!Only after I told you we were in fact wanting to look in your store did you offer up alternate cycle rack locations, and as I have undergone recent surgery on my spine I did not relish the thought of moving my bike yet again.Had you asked us in a remotely polite manner I probably still wouldn’t have visited your store (due to unnecessary hassle) but neither would I have left this review for you. You were totally unapologetic and would not let the subject lie, we would have been gone within a short period of time and your hire bikes would have had parking available once again. You made the experience a most unpleasant one for us and have lost the possibility of 2 e-bike sales.As for my other reviews, they are none of your business and just show how retaliatory you are, not a great look!

These guys are fantastic with advice and the time they give you. We are involved in building a pump track and needed some advice about the local one to their shop. It’s fantastic!There was no rush, they were very forthcoming, friendly and great to chat the project through with. If that was the free advice they give I would definitely have no problem spending money in their shop. Skilled, friendly staff mean so much, they are obviously not just about selling products and are all about promoting cycling and empowering all folk to ride. Really appreciate your advice guys. Nick

The owner and staff in this shop are responsive, knowledgeable and super helpful. They are passionate about cycling and will do all they can to help you enjoy your time in the Cairngorms on two wheels. The owner Nash was instrumental in the creation of the Woodland Wheels Pump Track, from dreaming it could happen, fundraising and campaigning for it, and right through to making it happen. We have spent many hours as a family at the pump track and are so grateful for what you’ve done for this community Nash!

After destroying my freehub and my rim having heavy damage, I was in quick need of a new rear wheel, and i was after a Hope Fortus 30. I was coming from Inverness direction so phoned some of the shops there but none had a wheel which fit all my needs (29, boost, XD, 6 bolt and strong). After one shop even tried to me a wheel that wasn't strong enough I hit the road back to Aviemore. On the way I thought I'd give Ride a shot. I couldn't call ahead because I was driving so I stopped in not knowing if they would have what I needed.Luckily, they had a large stock of different Hope wheels, so after describing what I was needing, Nash nipped away and came back with exactly what I needed. This was amazing because it was what I needed to get me back on the trails quickly.Yeah, If they hadn't had anything, I could've got one online in a few days probably, but when you have local shops that are happy to help and very friendly, I'd rather shop there and even wait that bit longer if they have to order parts in.

Absolutely fantastic bike shop. The best in the valley. We always use Ride for our bike servicing. My kid has had 3 bikes from there which have been really happy with. The staff go above and beyond to help. Even when you have an indecisive 5 year old in tow! 100% recommend this business. We’ll be back asap for a new helmet.

Awesome service from a great bike shop! Always had top tier serivce, the guys are so knowledgeable and really friendly to talk to. Have bought 2 bikes from them in last couple of years and wont hesitate to buy again from them in the future.
