Otterbourne Grange Residential Home

My mother is currently a resident of this care home and has been in hospital or care for the last 7 months due to delirium and mobility issues. I read the previous one star review with dismay when my mother was placed there. However the current staff are brilliant, always happy, patient and nothing is too much trouble, and the CQC report is good. A member of our family has visited pretty much every single day for 4 months at different times, meeting all the staff and they’re all so helpful. My mum says they’re always happy and kind. The building isn’t like some new purpose built care homes and generally needs updating but we feel the care provided is excellent.

An old fashioned care home

Very poor care home avoid at all costsCqc were called in and what should of been a typical 6 hour visit lasted several days due to their poor procedures low staff causing slow care times and very poor building conditionsThere is often only 2 members of staff to deal with 18 residents meaning that whilst a resident is being dealt with (which requires 2 staff for a lot of jobs ie getting them in and out of bed ) then there is no staff member to deal with other residents . On a typical day time there is 2 to 3 staff members that also means whilst 2 are dealing with a resident there is only 1 staff member available to do jobs that require 2 people.Staff themselves are overworked and put under extreme stress levels not even being allowed to take there legal required breaks this leads to I'll staff that are tired and not able to provide the care required .I would advise anyone thinking of a job with this company to look elsewhere if u want to stay healthy and happy.I would also reccomend anyone thinking of leaving there loved ones with this atrocious company to think twice as I would not leave anyone I cared about with themIf in any doubt Google otterbourne grange cqc report and u will see for yourself that the rating is not good
