First visit since new owners took over. Food was cooked beautifully and I was impressed with the size of the portion received considering I asked for the £5 mini bites (3 fish pieces and chips), more than I could eat on my own. Was also able to swap mushy peas for any other sauces

For over £18 for two cod and chips I should have been awarding 5 stars. Sadly it was not to be. The chips, although plentiful, were barely cooked. The fish was grey and uninspiring and the batter soggy. My first and last time here.

First time I tried the batter was off. Hence my car stunk week later, fish and chips were fine. Otherwise would have not eaten and been very ill. Tried again only for chips which were fine. Service friendly and clean area.

My favorite fish shop, good quality food, cooked fresh for you. 5 minute wait.

Food was not up to scratch as per reviews suggested servers appeared disinterested and put out £17.90 for fish and chips and a battered sausage very expensive for what was overall poor food and poor experience .

This is my updated review since it was refurbished. Not sure if changed hands also but just had some chips from here and am happy with the improvement: nice portion size, well cooked, and very tasty. Nice looking premises and flyers. I will try it again shortly with fish and other items and further update the review accordingly.Keep up the portion size and quality and this will be my preferred chippy. I do want to support smaller local businesses!Hope others will retry and update outdated reviews.

Food was okay but very expensive for something as simple as fish and chips. Service very slow and annoying that someone who came in after us got served first, even though it wasn't busy. They also forgot to put vinegar on the chips which we asked for.

Nice food and a relief that the cooking methods are suitable for a vegetarian diet. The vegetarian options to go with chips are limited when you aren't keen on veggie burgers or onion in the cheese patty, which is why it is a 4 star not 5star review.

Very good place for fish and chips, popped in on a Saturday night, wasn't overly busy, staff were very friendly and polite. Ordered 4 haddock 3 lots of chips 1 battered sausage and 2 x mushy peas!! You have to have mushy peas don't you!! £41 not bad, Captain Birdseye would be impressed
