I had a consultation appointment for laser surgery. The overall experience was great. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because they didn’t notify me to have an accompanying person on my way home. In the end part of the consultation eye muscle relaxant is given which the doctor mentioned would change my vision to some extent and it varies between person to person. For me it had a huge effect. Which is why I wasn’t ultimately qualified for the surgery. I feel like they really shouldn’t let patients in such cases go home on their own. Since it was the last part of the eye test, the drops took a bit of a time to fully kick in. So, when I was exiting the building my vision was a little blurred and I was actually on my way to London from Bristol. I nearly lost my vision in the midway. It was extremely risky at that point. Luckily by the time the train reached London I had my extreme blurry vision back again and was somehow able to just get down on the platform and seat in a space. I was able to call my husband (luckily he was the person I spoke last on my phone) and I waited there for several hours and he finally came to pick me up from there. They should definitely ask the patients not to leave the hospital alone who have similar visions to mine. A serious accident could’ve happened on the road. I really hope they will make sure that the patients are able to go out on their own from next time as it took nearly 24 hours to get my normal vision back.

Eye surgery went really well but having trouble with aftercare since July I lost count on the amount of time I have called them. My I eyes are still not right now keep getting headaches and vision is still off. Driving is a bit iffy. And still waiting for correction of some kind. I have now filed a complaint and it now December

Lens Replacement Surgery - 04/06/2023Firstly, I have to say that the surgeon, nursing staff and all other staff I encountered for my surgery were absolutely brilliant and I have no criticism of them. However, such a shame to have the experience ruined by hours and hours of waiting. We were kept waiting on the day to meet the surgeon, but after apologies were told 'don't worry, it will be a very slick process on the day'. Unfortunately, on the day we were keep waiting from 12 midday until 8 o'clock in the evening for a process which was supposed to have taken 4 hours. Aside from being told at 4:30 pm that there was a delay this was the only update we had. Very poor communication and very disappointing, especially when you are sat there awaiting surgery. Finishing on a positive, the end result of surgery is excellent and the world is definitely a brighter place.

An awful experience when having lens replacement (4.6.23) Appointment was at -on but didn’t have op until 8:30pm. Issue with awaiting sanitisation. These things happen but was not told either by staff why there was a delay. No refreshments provided until I went through to another waiting room at 7pm.This is unacceptable when you’re paying thousands of pounds

I had lense replacement surgery 4mths ago now. Once my eyes had healed it became apparent very quickly that it hadn't gone well. My distance vision, (which was pretty perfect) is now blurry. The same for middle distance. The whole point of me having the surgery was to improve my close up vision as I am a jeweller by trade which is no better. I have been back multiple times, multiple eye tests and was fitted with corrective prescription lenses a week ago. One fell out the following day and the other two days later. The prescription was wrong by the way. Even worse in fact.I have been back today. More tests...Now they are ordering glasses to see if they can correct the issue before laser correction.I would honestly never have started this process if I knew this was how it was going to be.Hindsight is a wonderful thing I guess...

Had replacement lenses in 2020.Already my left eye has clouded over basically no vision.Spoke with the manager at Bristol who said I needed a consultation £100.Laser surgery £350 approximately.I've just pain nearly £8000. For initial treatment. They only give a year cover . During this time you experience hallowing I rang a number of times regarding this but was never reviewed for it.But I guess it was the start of my eye clouding over.A year guarantee is not enough time.So be very careful on your decision to have eye surgery.

Visited OpticalExpress in Bristol today to explore the possibility of laser eye surgery. The consultation went fine, but I was quite disappointed by the predatory approach towards contact lenses and fake thank you cards, some of which had no writing. The eye test, on the other hand, was okay. I should note that I wasn't a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery, seeing the cards left a negative impression on me during the consultation. My suggestion is to be more honest with your promotional materials and less predatory in your approach.

Had my consultation yesterday prior to Len’s replacement surgery.Laura was brilliant. Whilst extremely professional with a clear passion for her job she was fun too and very chatty. Jack again very professional and gave me all the information i needed allowing me to be happy to book there and then for replacement surgery.

The original appointment went as expected and surgery was quick and painless. The checks were 1 day, 1 Wk, 1 month, 3 months. On each occasion I informed the surgery that my focus wasn’t correct. It wasn’t until the 5 month that they agreed. I’ve now waited months, with last minute cancelled appointments with only limited availability of people to see me. It’s very difficult to get in touch with the surgery and they don’t keep their promises when they say they will ring you back or keep you updated. I had the original operation in Oct and now in Jun I wait for top up surgery. At a cost of £6.5k I feel like I’ve paid for a Porsche and been given a Seat. I will wait and see if this solves this issue but I’m not confident that it will. The money has gone so there isn’t much more I can do other than role the dice and see what happens. It didn’t give me what they promised, well not yet anyway but don’t be swayed by the hype. Give careful consideration before having this done.

Took really exceptionally good care of my mum, very reassuring and the optometrist called several times chasing how mum felt , when her follow up was. Talked mum down when she was agitated or nervous - honestly just really great service & so caring. She’s a credit to them & mum was a lot calmer & was touched that she called twice to check in. Slesha was the optometrists name. THANK YOU so much for remembering the person behind the people you see. Just great stuff & great team!
