St Gwyndaf Church
A lovely well maintained little church that was built between the 13th and 15th Century in the main with a 12th Century font. Fascinating history as it was at the centre of the last invasion of mainland Britain when a small French army of some 1400 soldiers 'sacked' the Church on February 22nd 1797. They were led by an American colonel by the name of William Tate. The Church porch also has a fascinating small squint so that the infirm and even lepers could watch the service inside. The older parts of the graveyard need care when negotiating and it was good to see evidence of a recent bramble clearance when I was here as it was needed. Minimal car parking nearby in front of the church.
