Spartans Academy of Krav Maga is simply the most valuable way to spend 2 hours of your week - I've been going for 1 year and have learned so much - from being aware of unsafe situations to having the confidence to respond to threats or actual violence in a way that gives me a chance to escape and live to fight another day. The instructors take you through basics of situations, step by step of the moves to respond and only then do they build it up with more pressure and realism to ensure you have confidence to retaliate in real-life.This isn't a muscle gym" academy - men and women attend in equal numbers and you don't have to have extreme fitness

I've been attending sessions here on and off for the last year. Krav and it has helped me find some confidence again when out in public, as well as helping provide me with more mental confidence in everyday life.All 5 instructors that teach in Sheffield are great and I'd recommend to anyone. It's very diverse group of people that attend and is a nice dynamic!

I have been thinking about learning self-defence and I am so glad I found Spartans Academy of Krav Maga. The classes are very dynamic and really interesting, as well as educational. The practice sessions include a lot of fitness training along with the self-defence techniques. The explanations are delivered in a professional manner with a very practical and real-life twist! The team is great and extremely welcoming! I would definitely recommend!

Joining Krav Maga helped me to build up my confidence, and my awareness, two hours of intensive training made me able to focuse for a longer time, it's not like other type of self defence, it's not for showing off, it's a real training. Instructors are happy to correct my mistakes even if I did them for many times which helped me to learn how to correct my self. I’ve been hugely impressed with the Spartan Academy and Krav Maga as a practical, effective and efficient self-defence system. The Spartan Academy instructors are all highly skilled and experienced, they are calm, patient and proficient in their teaching. They demonstrate skills and techniques, then watching and supporting all class members in developing their skills and understanding.I have been particularly impressed with the chief instructor, Gheorghe, who seems to have exceptional knowledge, insight and understanding, not just of Krav Maga and biomechanics, but also of teaching and the barriers in transitioning from a martial arts background to Krav Maga.I have about 20 years’ experience in various martial arts and I have found all of them enjoyable and interesting forms of exercise, but I’ve always doubted their practical application in real world situations. It’s one thing blocking or throwing a punch in controlled sparring or the ring, but this isn’t reflective of the real world.I’ve been attending weekly classes with the Spartan Academy for about 2 months, my impression is that Krav Maga, as taught at the Spartan Academy, isn’t a martial art, but a practical, well thought out self-defence system, utilising situational awareness, biomechanics and muscle memory, in real world environments and scenarios. It’s also fun and fantastic exercise.

Practical self defence that is effective and to the point. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their awareness, physical ability and confidence. Likely that anyone would gain knowledge from Spartans that would help you take a more informed approach to everyday situations. The tuition is class leading, and training lead equally to maximise learning for everyone.

I have wanted my children and I to join a self defence class for quite some time. After doing much research, I decided that Krav Maga was the right choice for us. I chose Spartans Academy, not just because of the reviews and locations, but because they were very accommodating, allowing my 12 and 13 year old daughters to join in with my husband and I in the adult sessions. The instructors are outstanding, not only are they disciplined, but they are extremely patient, understanding, informative, and encouraging (everything that i feel a good teacher should be), and the results are evident in my children's ever growing self esteem and fortitude. After each class, our confidence in our abilities to protect and defend ourselves if the situation arose is increasing. We have a long way to go, and are still very much at the beginning of our Krav Maga journey, but already we have some invaluable tools in our toolbox, that will help us to protect and defend ourselves if the situation arose.I would also like to point out that one of my daughters is Autistic and has Dyspraxia. Her progress to date has been overwhelming, she is undertaking complex moves, that i hadn't thought she would be able to grasp and her ever growing confidence speaks volumes!Attending Spartans Academy along with my teenage daughters is one of the best things i have ever done as a parent.

Truly can't recommend Spartans Academy enough. Really value how they emphasise the importance of awareness and prevention, and how accessible, realistic and effective the training is. My Krav Maga journey has helped me to build confidence and mental toughness in the face of challenges, which applies to other aspects of my daily life too.
