Pretty pub with a good looking menu. I got their burger but the red onions in it were basically onion skin, the flavour was all in the sauce not the meat, and the tomato slice included the bit where the stalk connects, and the kids burgers didn't taste of anything, nice ice cream though and I liked the skin-on fries. I'm sure the other dishes were better, my dad liked his fish and chips.

I very much enjoyed my meal. I had the arancini and the pie. Highly enjoyable. The menu was varied with a few vegetarian options available if i wished. Service was quick, which always helps and a reasonable price for a weekend lunchtime. It is a dog friendly place with a canal walk available next to it. Well worth a visit.

Just came off the boat for a quick lunch time pint but was tempted to have a bite to eat after seeing the food being served. We had Fresh mussels and Gambas Pil Pil both excellent and mains a lovely pork chop with best mash I have had outside London. The beefburger was very tasty served with proper chips and salad all washed down with nice ale.Nice atmosphere with locals driving to get a lovely lunch in a great setting.Price was very good for the quality of service and food.More boaters who appreciate good food and atmosphere should pull in.

Travelling on the canal we moored and took drinks and an evening meal here. Good service and nice hearty food. Being a little absent minded I left some money and a credit card behind. The staff very helpfully took care of the situation and sent everything back to me.

We tried to book Saturday for a Sunday lunch on Father's Day. Not surprisingly they were fully booked. We walked from our boat to the pub for a drink and Charlie, at front of house, welcomed us with the news of a cancellation and the table for 2 was ours. What a welcome, what a place and OMG the food was excellent. The scotch egg starter is gorgeous, the Sunday roast (beef) was delicious (rare of course!) and the sticky toffee pudding, mmmmm! Charlie and Chris (chef) are awesome. Welcoming, professional, hard working and very, very accommodating. Oh, and BTW, totally dog friendly, inside and out. Great place. Book early.

Excellent venue. With great staff to compliment it. Food was fantastic, Sunday dinner was perfect with beef cooked to perfection. The guest beer was bloody lovely church farm pale ale. Not had a good kip for years like the good old days. Infact i didn't eat again till breakfast & could have easily skipped it. My 1st time here for a father's day family treat & will be coming here more often most definitely. Ps Theo the dog loved his complimentary Sunday lunch which wasn't expected but very welcome. Thanks for a great experience. 10/10

Exceptional. What a great establishment. You can have three different experiences, around the bar, a group in the conservatory, and a quiet table. Food choices are superb. Food was all home cooked to a high standard. Staff were attentive and concise. Will definitely be going back.

My go-to canalside country pub. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff and fab food. Super dog-friendly but also has a lovely restaurant for those who aren’t too keen on furry friends. Also has a nice, large beer garden.

Whe have visited Tom O the Wood many times over the years and have always experience lovely food. My wife has previously posted a 5 star review. Unfortunately our experience today was very disappointing. We ordered 2 of the pork baps, which last time we visited were fantastic. Unfortunately today they were not good. Although the fillings were tasty, they were rather meagre. The biggest dissapointment however was the bap they were served on. Much smaller than last time and really not fresh and I wasn't able to finish it. I raised it with the server when she collected our plates, and asked her to raise it with the kitchen. I didn't get any feedback until I asked about it when I went to pay. The server just told me that the kitchen was going to change the bread. Too late for us obviously. We will go back again as our previous experiences have always been excellent and just hope this is a temporary blip.
