St Helens Dental Practice

I'd just like to thank Peter and Fiona for the experiences I've had at their practice over the years. I arrived scared of dentists and pretty wary of their advice, Peter changed that round completely with his ease, compassion, professionalism, integrity and humour. You couldn't be in safer hands if you go to this practice

Very good experience and set my quite worried 6 year old at ease very quickly with a friendly and engaging manner.I was very impressed that he made time for a last minute emergency appointment late in the day after my son was injured. The check was professional and pain free, and we were given a good explanation of what to expect next, and how to decide if we needed to come back in.I would recommend to friends and family.

I have received amazing treatment from this Practice. Peter expertly corrected another dentists poor root canal work. An advanced procedure, which he administered on multiple teeth. All completely painless! Extraordinarily high attention to detail. Highly recommend this Dental Practice.

Peter is a tooth wizard! Having avoided dentists for too long and neglected my teeth, Peter was kind, patient and VERY skilled. I now look forward to seeing him, as even root canal was totally painless. I am so happy with my teeth and so glad to no longer fear seeing a dentist, well, only Peter, I would not go anywhere else and can’t recommend him enough! His systems to cope with COVID-19 were also faultless.

We have always been very happy with our treatment. Peter is a brilliant dentist who helped us navigate tricky treatment for our daughter. We have now moved out of the area to Cornwall, but still travel back from Cornwall for the whole family to have their check ups with Peter.

I recently moved to the area and saw that Peter's clinic came highly recommended. I visited the clinic for an initial review where he did an examination and took x-rays. I then made a further appointment with the hope that he was going to start some treatment and fix the teeth that had issues. Although I had made it clear I wanted an hour appointment so actual work could be done, when I arrived all he did was temporary work. Approx a month later, I then tried to make a further appointment making it clear that I wanted the teeth that were causing me pain to be fixed. His response to me was that he would need to see me again to understand what teeth needed to be fixed. This would have been my 3rd visit with actual no treatment being performed. It was clear to me he was just trying to string the appointments out to make as much money as possible from me. I will never go back to this dentist again. He is only after money

A 2 minutes phone call destroyed my trust - What an impatient dentist!.I was treated during September to November 2019 - which was OK and no problem. Trouble started with the post-treatment _customer service_.I needed a receipt for insurance purpose, and got one which started the problem - the receipt was quite confusing to be honest. The insurer couldn't understand it (as I didn't) and asked them for clarification, I guess this all went fine as Peter did call them. I noticed that the insurer hasn't done the claim and thought it would be Good to call Peter and check if the call went OK (this is the first time I call him, and maybe the last time) - the 2 minutes call destroyed my trust to him completely.When I asked him about the call to the insurance company, he suddenly became very agitated and angry, telling me he is not dealing (or does not want to deal) with insurance company and he will charge me if I call again. For god's sake, I am just making a quick call for the only time! the call finished within 2 minutes with a very unhappy customer!!!

I had my first visit at this dental practice in May 2021. I have to say that I was truly impressed by the whole experience. Dr. Peter Sands' customer service and professionalism was excellent and I felt in safe hands from the very beginning. He took the time to thoroughly inspect every single tooth in my mouth, explain everything in detail and educate me in various aspects of the mouth hygiene. It is not the cheapest option in Abingdon but I think the value of the services they deliver exceeds the cost. I strongly recommend this dental practice

New patient and so far my experience has been fantastic. All of the staff have been friendly and welcoming and Peter seemed really thorough with his examination, explaining throughout what he was doing and why. During the consultation we discussed treatment needed and he took the time to show me the problem area, help me understand why they were problems and why treatment was needed. He left me feeling comfortable and that my teeth were in safe hands. All in all I'm happy with my choice of dentist so far and would definitely recommend to others in the area (especially nervous patients, as Peter's approach and manner is very calm and reassuring).

After neglecting my teeth for many years due to a genuine terror of going to the dentist I was forced to go to see Peter and Fiona 4 years ago thanks to the pain caused by a particularly bad tooth (which Peter fixed painlessly) and now, I am happy to say, that I go (almost) willingly and never skip an appointment - which I did for years. Thank you Peter, Fiona and team for turning my mouth around and helping me smile again :)
