Gateshead East Cemetery

I had a look at this cemetery yesterday searching for a relative. Really sad to see the condition of the place. Overgrown grass and smashed headstones. Just because it's full doesn't mean it has to be neglected. Sad.

It's a cemetery not much else to say really

Was lowest rating able to give, I have put numerous complaints in over past few years regarding the state of this cemetery and because the cemetery is now unmanned it’s not a priority, I rang yesterday because of the state of it to be told the grass will be getting cut but it’s not a priority as they are still clearing peoples gardens from the last storm we had and the weather hadn’t been good enough to cut grass, absolutely disgraceful that our loved ones are being treat to badly because there is no new revenue being brought in they certainly didn’t tell my grandad that when he purchased the plot of land in the early 60’s for my grandma his plot of land was signed by the Lord Mayor at the time and purchased for 999year. Loved ones who fought for our country through 2 world wars are buried here but what they went through doesn’t amount to much in here because the local council don’t have the funds to keep the cemetery in good repair!
