Skye was our guide and he was amazing! He knew all sorts of fun facts about Edinburgh, provided some good food + shop advice, and was a pure delight! All the food was amazing and he did a very good job with avoiding the big Fringe crowds, which was no doubt difficult. Thanks again, Skye and if you are thinking about taking a food tour, this one is it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Private Food Tour with Skye while in Edinburgh. I appreciated his passion for food, as well as the history and knowledge he shared with us about the city, and where to eat, shop and visit (and where NOT too) for the remained days of our stay. The food portions were plentiful, and we were very full at the end of the tour, no need to book a dinner reservation after! Due to staffing issues, there were some unpredictable closures during our tour, but Skye was quick to execute a back up plan to ensure we tasted all of the Scottish dishes we were hoping to. This is the third city we have done a Secret Food Tour in, and we always book them early into our trip, as the guides are so helpful in planning out the rest of your stay. It was fantastic to benefit from Skye's local knowledge, support independent places, and enjoy some delicious food. The haggis was so much better than we expected (due to the place we had it, we have had bad haggis). We would highly recommend this tour (and Skye) when visiting Edinburgh. As noted, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for the walk, Edinburgh is very hilly.

This tour was wonderful. Marge kept the tour engaging and fun. She had great energy and excellent knowledge of the history of the area. The tastings provide plenty of food, you will not be hungry at the end.

Had an absolutely amazing experience trying the local delicacies with Carlos. The introductions to the foods were amazing and the little bits of history between the food were much appreciated. The only regret I have about this tour is that I didn’t go on it earlier in my trip.

My dad and I were visiting Edinburgh for a short time and wanted to taste the good food Edinburgh had to offer in the short amount of time we were there.Skye was our tour guide and we were a small group of people.Along with being very knowledgeable about the history of Edinburgh he was also well informed about the local cuisines and just about everything else. The food was great, the ambience was fun and it was great to support the local independent owners. For anyone visiting Edinburgh for the first time I advise to take this tour so you don’t waste time or calories on disappointing restaurant choices and have a taste of the best Edinburgh has to offer!

Oliver’s secret food tour of Edinburgh was undoubtedly a highlight of our trip for three generations—grandparents, parents, and children ALL loved not just the food, which was undoubtedly delicious, but especially the way Oliver brought the history of Scotland to life. We learned SO MUCH and he gave us so much wonderful advice for the rest of our trip as well! This is a MUST DO!

Laurence was an amazing tour guide. He was funny and personable and he made sure our group was together and walking the hills and stairs ok (some of us had mobility limitations). He gave a lot of local history and facts and tips for places to see. Would definitely recommend the tour as a good way to see a lot of locations, eat great food, and learn about Edinburgh and its culture. It is a bit of a stroll with the hills and stairs (it’s Edinburgh. Can’t be avoided) but Laurence went at a good pace so everyone was comfortable. Genuinely such a great experience. Bring cash to tip!

This was a great way to open our trip to Edinburgh. I would recommend it as a way to start your city trip. You will definitely be fed well from the start, though I do think that the sweet-savoury options are a bit off-balance (the sweet offerings were very sweet and very heavy). Our guide Madge (Madeleine) made our time fun and memorable, moving seamlessly from conversation to fun fact to food fact. Even the occasional rain couldn't put a damper on the mood.
