Quiet situation. Our room was pleasant with a comfortable bed and decent shower. The food, both dinner and breakfast was very good and excellent value. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

We booked this as a part of a hotel gift given to us.Hotel is extremely dog friendly, which was great for us.To echo other reviews, the rooms and bathrooms are tired but very clean. We had a lovely meal on the friday night in the bar, it was obviously busy so there was a bit of a wait bit overall nothing to bad. However for us the real let down was breakfast. At £16.50 pp it seems a bit expensive unless you're going for the full English which even then is quite modest.I ordered poached eggs on toast and got given a standard white slice of toast with two hard poached eggs. The waitress seemed annoyed when I asked for runny eggs and 2 slices of toast.Personally I would skip the breakfast and find somewhere else.Overall we had a nice break but probably wouldn't rebook.

Fantastic 3 night stay, great space adjacent to hotel for walking our dog, we felt well at ease having the dog in the hotel, they even put together a dedicated box with bowl, towel and treats for the dog. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble, continental breakfast was lovely. We decided to eat there in the evenings and the food was superb, albeit a little pricey. Room was very nice and big enough to include our dog a border collie, that said, any smaller would be too small. Overall a wonderful stay and would stay again if in that area.

Great location and nice outside areas. However, all of that was ruined by very poor service. Went there for afternoon tea on Sunday 3rd August, and left very disappointed. Dirty and broken tea set. Had to chase for sugar as none provided.

Amazing experience during my week stay here for work! Never I have met such lovely, pleasant and courteous staff. The food was amazing and the ambience and serenity are unforgettable. Special thanks to Brigette for being so accommodating which made our stay even greater!

Such a lovely hotel. The staff were so polite, kind and accommodating. Really appreciated their efforts to help make our stay more comfortable for our nervous dog. We were able to move to a room with access straight on to a garden area. The welcome pack for dogs was very nice. Great access to fields straight outside the hotel. Perfect place for a trip with dogs.

Nice hotel just outside Chard. You have to drive through a housing estate, which feels a bit strange, but the hotel is located at the end of a long drive and is surrounded by fields. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms can't be described as luxurious but are clean and comfortable. We travelled with our dog so our meals were taken in the bar, which has much better ambiance than the restaurant. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff were lovely. The evening food menu was very good. Breakfast was delicious. The room was old fashioned, but the beds were very comfortable. The location was a bit odd.Nothing was too much trouble for the receptionist.
