Butterworths Solicitors

After finally completing our house sale I can honestly say Butterworths solicitors are abysmal. Only spoke to them the day before completion, wont respond to concerns, never used my correct name in correspondence. Couldn't even be bothered to send you a printed letter. I could list a load of issues. Just what ever you do don't use these solicitors (Carlisle office)

Butterworths Solicitors have been an absolute dream! My husband and I recently bought our first home and Adele and Grace were incredibly helpful and super efficient. Everyone has remarked at how quickly the sale went through which I do believe is wholly down to them! I would highly recommend working with Butterworths and I will be sure to use them again.

After suffering for months with another solicitor and fearing the house purchase would not proceed I can honestly say what a breath of fresh air Butterworths are. They took a very complicated case and turned it around in no time making it look very easy indeed....All in all a very competent and helpful firm .. I would not hesitate to recommend or use again for any purchase.They kept in touch by email which suited me down to the ground. They responded quickly to queries and nothing was too much trouble.

Unbelievable! If I could, I'd give them 0 stars because they don't deserve 1. Due to a house being purchased at auction via Pattinsons, I had to use these solicitors

AVOID AVOID AVOIDif you want donkeys work then go here. one of the worst solicitors I’ve had to use due to a property being bought at auction via PATTISONS. They must have their degrees carved on a stone slab as they have no clue what a deadline is and think it’s acceptable to breach contracts and delay completion by a month, which would of been ok if they was informed me/my parties! But I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, they must not have phones and have forgotten their passwords to their emails so they just sit and twiddle their thumbs hence why is was almost impossible to get replies definitely not the fact that they are incompetent.

Absolutely awful. We were selling, agreed a completion date with the buyers. Date comes and goes with no communication from solicitors. Our buyers really upset, understandably so! No one returned our frantic calls the next day. It took two days and the last hour to complete. No explanation, no apology, extremely abrupt staff. Atrocious.

Wish there was a 0 rating! Please AVOID!! I had gone through this firm 4 years ago via pattison estate agents to draft some commercial leases up for 2 commercial properties. It was a little bit of a carry on but managed through and the leases were done by Angela Newstead.Recently I had a renewal due for the commercial property in February 2021 and Chloe Butler was meant to be sorting it out and the lease didn’t get sorted till November 2021 by Grace Robinson there was a lot of chasing around even thou I was out of the country I was emailing them and upon return it was the same. Every time you would call, someone that your dealing with has left, seems like whoever comes doesn’t stay for long, anyways no one had bothered chasing up the bank manager to authorise the lease. I was lied to by saying they were awaiting on his reply and documents. Upon chasing our manager he confirmed that the last he had heard from the advisor was back in Augest and he had requested some information.Anyways like I said if you want a hassle free and not a delayed experience please go elsewhere.

Left a previous lean" from before the property was bought on the "register of title" which resulted in long delays to my remortgage. Made contact to try to have this rectified only to be ignored. Another solicitor offered advice that this was "negligence" and my further email was met with a surprisingly different
