First time playing here and just loved it. What an absolute treat. I cannot say enough about this beautiful course. From the first hole to the last, you are challenged.Scenery amazing, course condition for mid march golf. 9/10.Greens had been worked on a couple of weeks before. But were pretty good. Can't wait to come back in the summer.The welcome was great, bar and food service were excellent. Pro shop was really friendly and good rate using County card.One point of note: walking, which we did. Advisory, its tough. Not for the unfit. I carried, but on return it will be a buggy. Big ups and down and whilst being pretty fit, some heavy ascents and descents.But, again ... this course is awesome.

We had the privilege of playing this course. We were a four ball, we took buggies as advised.A fabulous course so beautiful, not easy but playable for us ladies averaging 22 handicaps.Greens and fairways perfect.Everyone we met from the time we arrived made us feel very welcome.Hope one day to play here again!Thank you

I went for a private function and 18 holes of golf. Incredible course with amazing views. Quite a long course with several steep slopes up and down. I used a push along trolley but a golf buggy would be very handy for those who think they’d struggle going up steep hills.Facilities are fantastic. Surroundings idyllic. Food was of good quality. Price quite expensive as one would expect- £40 for one round if going with a member.

Beautiful course. Very well kept. Tough. If you play well, you can somewhat master all but 3 holes that are ultra tough (on the mind atleast). Some photo credits to a friend on course.

A wonderful golf course set in the heart of the By Brook valley close to one of the prettiest villages in England, Castle Combe.Myself and my daughter got a tee time at short notice: we chose it as the drainage was good due to it being built on limestone. After the recent rain it was good to see the course, and especially the greens, were in great condition for the time of year (late November).The course itself isn’t particularly long, but it represents a fair challenge and is one of those courses where even years from now and having only played it once, I could talk you through the round.Highlight holes: the drop hole par 3 2nd over the brook. The par 5 7th through the avenue of trees. The huge drop hole par 4 8th. The strategic 12th (don’t go long off the tee unless you’re very long!). And the 17th is a lot of fun too!The clubhouse is welcoming as are the members - we played with 2 ladies who were very friendly and helped us navigate the course.The halfway house is a Airstream caravan serving drinks and hot and cold snacks. There was a good selection of snacks and sandwiches in the clubhouse restaurant (and full meals but we only had a sandwich).Why the one star less? The course has a lot of up and downs - most people were in carts just for this purpose. We walked and it was manageable but any warmer and it’s have been a struggle. The “carts sticking to the cart path” rule makes sense, but meant the pace of play was fairly brutal. Just bare this in mind when booking.As for us - we will be back for sure. I’m looking forward to playing it when it’s drier and the balls are running a bit (and you can drive carts on the fairway).

This is one of my favourite places in the world. Having been a member for around 20 years. The course is unique and beautiful and there's nowhere better to sit on the terrace fir a drink on a sunny day.
