Very nice guy knew what he was talking about from start to finish come out fixed a leak that no other roofer could fix would recommend with pleasure

I’d give zero stars if I could.Came out to “fix a roof leak”. Initially quoted me £1,000 as it was a “big job” but said they’d do it for £800 if I had it done there and then, using high pressure sales tactics about how if I didn’t have it done I’d end up needing a new roof at a cost of around £20,000 and with a storm coming it needing doing right away.They went out to get some materials and spent less than 15 minutes doing the work which was to fit some drip trays from the roof to the guttering and to apply silicon to some of the roof led.This didn’t fix the problem and when I asked them to come back they told me they couldn’t come for at least a week as they were in hospital in Dublin. They sent a photo of a drip in a man’s arm as some kind of proof of this.Their website claims they have over 150 staff so I’m not sure why one of the other 149 staff couldn’t come.They also said they’d refund me as I’ve had someone else come in to fix the problem, for a lot less but since promising that on Saturday they’ve not done so. They then said Monday and then Friday & the following Monday but that they would only refund me if I removed my review. There have been many text messages about this. There has been excuse after excuse and it’s got to a point that I’ve had to start legal proceedings to get my money back & I’m also involving trading standards.The person who successfully repaired my roof showed me that I had a hole in the roof right at the apex, this company didn’t even get onto the top of the roof and said it was likely a guttering issue, which it wasn’t.While it may be a coincidence, the person I paid for the work is Danny J Preece and the 5* review below is from a James Preece.When googling “roofer near me” they have 50 reviews. Googling the business name they have just 2 (this being 1 of them).In my opinion the reviews that come up when Googling roofer near me sound very AI generated - have a read of them for yourself before just seeing 50+ 5 * reviews and assuming they are a decent company.They’ve also told me in text messages that the website is in a fake name and the address listed on it is also fake & that if I leave this review up and try to get my money back that “Gypsys know where I live”.Buyer beware - avoid this company like the plague unless you want to be subjected to unfair business practices like high pressure selling, chronic overcharging & of course unnecessary work that doesn’t actually fix the problem you called them out to deal with in the first place.
