amazing food. but beware - poor reception and no wifi. will you actually get a table or will you have to wait forever and then have the next wave of waiting diners staring at you when you finally get a table to sit at? is it even worth the risk because they don’t take bookings? no guys. the answer is no.

Went in here for lunch, got a booth and ordered from their extensive menu.Pleasantly surprised at the large portions that were served at reasonable prices. Staff were polite and helpful, will definitely visit again.

Best coffee in Kirkwall. Best breakfast in Kirkwall in my opinion. Went a couple of times during my stay, had pancakes and Mexican eggs. Both lovely. Service is a little slow but the servers were nice when they came to our table.

It's probably the best coffee in Kirkwall. Not great, but good. They could do with turning the music down and learning to not overheat the milk when making coffee - so hot it's impossible to drink for the first 10 minutes - we tried over several days. Service is unhurried; I suspect they have a high opinion of themselves. But the coffee beans they use are very good.

We ate here twice when we were in Orkney. Our friends had eaten there before. We queued for over 30 minutes on 3rd Sept, it was worth it. Food and service was great, the staff were pushed but very friendly. Our second experience on 6th Sept was awful. Whilst the food was lovely I’m still waiting for the Mocha I ordered. Despite it being confirmed, asking for it at the counter twice. At the third attempt I complained. I’d finished my meal, but hadn’t had anything to drink. The manager said mine was next on his list!!! Told him to cancel. We’d been there for an hour. I know everywhere shops , restaurants are struggling for staff. A smile costs nothing. Our server was “dour” a Scottish phrase, ( you .will know who that was) got the order wrong , was nonchalant and didn’t apologise and frankly didn’t care. As a manager I thought you may have come and apologised to the table. We spent a fair bit of money, which I didn’t grudge as the food was of a lovely standard.However the customer service was awful on our second visit. We came back because your food was super but it was ruined by a server who didn’t give a toss. I did make you aware I would post on Tripadvisor so this won’t be a surprise.

A very lovely cafe. The interior looks modern and yet comfy. Staff is welcoming and quick. And to round this up: they have excellent coffee and fantastic cake. One of the best cafes we’ve been to in Scotland up to this point.
