Beautiful walk from Forge Dam up the Porter Brook to Ringinglow and further up on footpaths to the source and Rud Hill. The shelter there provides a great place to have a coffee. Paths lead on to Redmires, Stanage Pole Stanage Edge and beyond.

Porter Brook
This is the river that flows from Ringinglow into Sheffield where it joins the Don. Porter Brook describes the path from Forge dam to Ringinglow. It is very steep in places and often muddy underfoot. I really like this path. I now have to take it slowly. There is lots to see on the way. And fantastic views from the top.

Had a great cycle ride out of Sheffield following Porter Brook out to Wire Mill Dam and then up a steep road up to Ringinglow Road and out to Burbage Bridge. A nice ride when I needed some exercise.

Great area with some great walking. I like the way the path follows the stream. Can be accessed from the top or the bottom and there is space for parking cars at both.
