It was an odd feeling on my bike after Mick's lot gave it the once over. I thought for a second that perhaps I picked up the wrong bike, as this one ran so well! Suffice it say, these folk know how to do a proper gear service. I am glad I gave up fixing my bike myself.

been so used to the gears slipping that I haven’t changed gear on it for years, Bike Box managed to fix they issue for good. Other bike shops in Tottenham seem like they take too much on and have messed me about, Bike Box were very communicative about price and completed when they said it would be done. Great to finally find a good bike place

I've been to Bike Box twice for services and both times I've ridden away on what feels like a brand-new bike. It's been large amounts of money (mainly due to me not going to them sooner with issues) but excellent value for the quality of work. Totally recommend for servicing, small and large jobs, as well as quick chat and purchase of smaller accessories/tools/minor asks. These guys do things thoroughly and properly.

Bit disappointed. Went for the £60 service, but on collection it came to £100. The owner had promised to call me to let me know if additional parts and labour would add to the bill, but he never did contact me. I pointed this out (it was written on the order slip) and he acknowledged he'd failed to call me, but made no apology, nor did he offer a discount. He did tell me the prices for labour and parts are detailed on the website (as if it was my responsibility to check this), but the website is currently inaccessible in Chrome due to a privacy error, so I couldn't have found out anyway. The service itself was perfectly good, so no complaints about that.Read through the reviews of Bicycle Box, and it's clear this isn't the first time they've forgotten to call customers about the changes to the initial quote. It's a simple thing to do - most customers will understand this stuff costs you money but you need to tell them - there's just no excuse not to. Not telling customers in advance will obviously leave a bad taste.I've had regular services here for the last 4 years, but will be going elsewhere in future.

Mick seems like a top-tier mechanic – I came in with a kinked chainring which he hammered back into place in 5 mins, then carefully explained about when I should replace the chain and cassette. The day before I’d seen another bike mechanic who had offered some bogus advice about repairing the problem so it was good to find someone who clearly knows what they’re doing! Highly recommended

Had a bike service done, bike was feeling very good afterwards. The only downside would be if they promise a date and can't keep the date for whatever reason, they just need to call the customer to say what the reason is and set another date. Leaving us hanging waiting for a missed pick up date is rather poor service. It is better to under-promise and over-perform than the alternative.EDIT: The response from the owner is not factually correct based on my experience. I dropped off the bike on a Wednesday, and was told that it would be ready on the Friday or Saturday, however it was several days later when it was finally ready. I'm assuming this confusion is caused by more than one person working at the shop other than the owner who has access to this particular Google listing and that person is the one giving the estimated completion date.

Quoted me £50 for gear adjustment, wheel replacement, pedals replacement. Total came to £100 - price of wheel doubled with no text or anything to let me know before hand. There was mentions of a test ride being done on the bike. On my way home the gears (which were adjusted part of the £100) immediately had issues with transmission and alignment. This is on the first ride out the door. The pedal replacement has broken and fallen off in under 6 months.Given the lack of notice on the quote doubling, and the failure to actually fix the gear transmission despite it apparently being taken for a test ride, I wont return here

My partner took in a bike for a plain service and was quoted £60.On picking up the bike he was then informed that the cost would be £150.A huge amount of work, for a bike that yes, has been outside a while, but has been ridden less than 10 times was undertaken. These extra cost were made up in replacing parts and adding on an 'extra service' that should be part of a normal bike service. Some extra parts may have needed it, others really did not.E.g. the necessity of replacing the brake pads, on a bike which has been used so little is really questionable. For our bikes that we use every day for lengthy commutes we don't replace the bike pads more than twice a year.Even sending text messages to ask and explain the problems/ costs associated would have mitigated us feeling really blindsided and ripped off on this one. As people feel awkward and pressured when it comes to the pick up.You can't double the cost of a job without consulting customers. This general service now cost more than the bike new.A really poor bit of treatment.
