The actual place is good. Flat bits down bits up bits. Good exercise for you and your dog but beware of owners with dogs off leads. I don't mind them but some people do. All I'm saying.

A lovely walk . A path is available but not necessary if u are able to walk over grass and slightly uneven ground. Small free carpark but can only accommodate 4 /5 cars and 3 disabled vehicles

Beautiful views over the surrounding fields.Easy to walk through to Longton Park (Queens Park). Looking south across Woodpark Lane you can appreciate the fields where greedy developers wanted to build over 100 houses. Enjoy ☺

Great place to walk the dog and chill out. Never too busy only spoiled sometimes by teenagers drinking at night.

Florence Country Park
Small carpark but adequate for the people there. A nice hard surface walk where dogs can run free and investigate the area. But it was spoilt by other people not clean up after them in the tended cut grass areas and even on the paths in a couple of places. But all in all a nice hours walk around.

Old Slagheap Hill ; waste from the Florence Colliery Coal Pits 1874 - 1994. Named after the 3rd Duke of Sutherland's eldest daughter. And a now distant memory of part of Stoke-on-Trent's industrial past.Nice to see these areas have been rewilded, and opened to the public for scenic walks. From the summit you can get a good vista out over Longton.Whilst the summit is grassed, either side of the paths (tarmac or shale depending which route you take) are a mixture of scrubland or wooded. Whilst at it's base are ditches of mud which run parallel to the paths.Far less busy than Longton Park which is a stones throw away from it.Popular with walkers and dog walkers. Can be steep in places.
