Massive drop off. Food used to be half decent.Avoid at all costs.I'm not sure where to start.The restaurant had poor hygiene all over. The toilets were filthy and they have no baby changing facilities.Fish was way too salty and extremely small portion for the price. Chicken wings had raw masala over them. Lamb was well over cooked. Chicken tikka was dry.The karahis were flavourless.

They don't take card payments which makes it quite an inconvenience. I didn't have cash so had go few doors down and pay for taking out money from the cash machine (which I wasn't very happy about because of religious reasons), its 2020 they should accept card payments!!!Food was very nice but portions for balti was really less and they don't give hot plates before food comes!(I have updated my review of 5 to 3 stars. Five stars I had given the first time I went but because of inconsistencies of the service the few times I have gone after I have unfortunately decided to lessen the ratings).

This place was okay. The food was just ordinary. We ordered Shahi Platter. Lamb and Kabab were not well cooked otherwise it was good. Chicken Balti was good. Veg Biryani was 5/10.PS: They do charge for Popadom :D

Took a friend for his first ever curry & he loved the meal, a chicken balti, I had daal served with vegetable pakora and roti. We were the only customers in the place, the service was friendly. I noticed on the bill we hadn't been charged for 2 soft drinks and informed the manager who let me off for my honesty.

Overall- 2.5/3Food quality has dropped off since our previous visits.Cons- Naan burnt on bottom side, undercooked inside, doughy taste.Fries- very greasy and chewy, not crispy at all.Chicken Pakora was cooked good but spices/marination was not of our preference.Butter Chicken- at one point we used to say it is the best in Birmingham but right now has changed, not sure if they changed chef or recipe but taste like too much herbs or spices.Pros-Good service and good atmosphere for family.Revisit- Maybe- Given we have been coming over the years not going to let 1 bad meal right this place off.

Recently visited shahi qela on Ladypool road, was recommended by a friend to go there,Went with family and upon entrance the staff were very respectful and welcoming, ordered the mix grill and lamb karahi and both were extremely tasteful, the food was fresh and hot and was appetizing. Would defo recommend!!

Fantastic food. The quality of the food was very good. Naan bread didn't have too much butter on it, boiled rice had a lovely garnish of coriander which gave them a nice little twist of flavour. I ordered the achari chicken as medium spiced and due to the achaar (pickle) I feel mild wod be fine. The achari chicken was very tasty just the right amount of achaar which meant you actually had lots of chicken too. Also they play nasheeds and not songs.

Ok so the starters were on point, came out sizzling hot and tasted delightful. We had the masala fish, chicken pakoras, meat sheesh kebabs and toped off with fries. For the main course we had meat balti jalfrezi with naan which tasted so good I have to rate it at a 10/10. The presentation for main could have been better but the taste made up for it. The only thing I would say is the coke presented in a 99p bottle that was not cold but charged for 3 times was a bit lame. Despite that, I highly recommend this place if your a foodie like me.

Service was a little slow but we did arrive at the restaurant after 10pm. No other customers there at the time. Good variety of the usual Pakistani/Indian cuisine. Quality and taste of all food we ordered was very good. Would recommend this place for all groups, large or small. Reasonable price
