The decor is a 4 but the food was an amazing 5 star, very large portions and so much flavor, definitely will be coming back again next time in Brighton! Staff were good and friendly :-)

Terrible experience - we arrived for 7pm - we were told we couldn't have happy hour. I complained to the manager and he stood by the happy hour price but couldn't explain why she wouldn't. He started to defend her and then said he would pass the feedback on. Something tells me he won't. First and last time here.

I went to 'el Mexicano' with a group of my students to have some Spanish tapas and to celebrate the end of a successful Spanish course. My students and myself were impressed with the food and the service, great atmosphere, two very charming and funny waitress attended us, they were very patient with the students who tried to order the food in Spanish and put in practice what they had learned in the Spanish course.The tapas were the best I tried in England so far and what was better it was also cheap.I definitely would recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Fantastic little restaurant.The food was amazing...i had Chicken Fajitas (which are 241 on a Wednesday) and my wife had Mole. Beautiful flavours. Great service and atmosphere. They also do 2 Tapas and a glass of wine for £5.95 as a lunch deal so will be back for sure. Valentino's cocktail above, wow! the best cocktails i've had. It made our day and will surely be coming back and telling all my mates about it too......Excellent!!!

Good food, friendly staff and reasonably priced. I had the evening special for 9.95 a quesadilla for start and a chicken burrito for the main - and it was delicious. The cocktail bar upstairs does the best cocktails in Brighton if you fancy a cheeky one after the meal! I will be back.

Whenever I visit Brighton I have to come to El Mexicano . Food is great especially the croquettes . House champagne is lovely and the staff are brilliant. I even had my stag do here where we were introduced to the cocktail bar upstairs. What I remember was good. Pornstar martinis were my last and happy memory

My wife and I always loved going out to El Mexicano, choosing in particular the nacho sharer starter and enchilada / enchipotlada (which is lovely and spicy).Salt, having been 'closed for refurbishment', it has now closed permanently and a tapas place is now there :(
