Colton Mill Medical Centre

Been with Colton/The Grange a few years now.I have always struggled to get appointments.Nobody ever answers the phone!I book via the app like the website asks you to then they text me to tell me they couldn't get through to me and I should call them back - firstly you texted me so you have the right number and my phone is working... secondly how do I call you back if you never answer.This is not the first time I've missed an appointment as nobody has called me.This surgery knows they have this problem and yet they don't fix it. They still ignore incoming calls and leave patients with no support and relief.I wouldn't reccomend signing up to this surgery as you'll never be seen by anyone.

This practice is an absolute disgrace. Trying to get an appointment to see a doctor is a complete fiasco, and near impossible. An average review rating of 2.5. Are the management team proud of that figure ? A practice is funded by the NHS dependant on the number of registered patients. Quite clearly Colton Mill Medical Centre have subscribed too many patients to increase their revenue without the ability to effectively serve those patients. While doctors have thrown down the gauntlet to the government by calling for a pay rise of up to 30% over the next five years, in a move that increases the chances of strike action. An absolutely and utterly disgraceful level of service.

There is a receptionist here called Julie who is the loveliest person you could wish to meet and goes out of her way to be helpful. If they were all like her this would be a fantastic place. Unfortunately she is one of a kind.There is one called Vicky whose manner and attitude is disgusting. The way she speaks to me when it is my misfortune to get her on the end of the phone is disgraceful. Last time I got her and was needing to make a phone appointment with a Dr or nurse she point blank Refused to make me one unless I could 100% guarantee I'd be available to answer when they rang, even though she couldn't give me a timeframe for the call - just sometime that day. So I am expected to just sit at home, not go to work, not drive etc all day just waiting for the call?!Today I rang just after 9.0 to request a phone appointment as I needed to discuss an urgent situation before the hospital rang me back. Her first words were demanding to know why I did not ring at 8 followed by lecturing me on the subject. (at 8 I didn't know I needed to speak to them and I was writhing in agony!)Who does she think she is? I am now waiting for a call from the supervisor to complain about her.

As a couple in our 80s, my wife and I are delighted with this practice. We feel they monitor our health and look after us superbly. I would like to single out my recent consultations with Dr Lumley and Kate Moore both of whom are wonderful. Further my recent consultation with Dr Coates and her subsequent phone call to me with an update, really put my mind at rest.

They obviously deleted my last review now I've been with these drs over 25 yrs it's was a small friendly surgery now far too big and cannot cope with the number of patients. Ridiculous how hard it is to get through on the phone and even harder to get an appointment. Find it stupid that an 11 yr old is classed as an adult and can manage their own medication they are deleted off parents account without an warning and then they need a Dr appointment to see if they are competent (I know this about my own child) drs are nice and the nurses are too some admin are rude some are nice but they are like a brick wall and take all the flack for the lack of appointments I wonder why drs/nurses/staff and patients so Ill now since 2020??

Updated. See below. Absolutely useless. Can’t get an appointment after spending 30 minutes waiting to get through. The advice given by reception has just sent me around in circles. Call 111. Who told me to call my GP. What the hell!!!!Ok. So an update. Has gotten much better in recent months so review rating updated to reflect.

Spoke with Debbie the receptionist today. I have to say she is a caring, compassionate and helpful woman who went out of her way to resolve an important issue for me. Very efficient and caring in the way she did this, calling me back within minutes with a resolution and I'm very greatful to have spoken with her. She was calming and reassuring whilst also being honest about what she could or couldnt do or try for me. Thank you DebbieI've been with this doctors since I was born (I'm 23) and never had any issues but this by far stood out to me as amazing customer service and attitude to work.

I have moved up to Yorkshire and Colton medical centre could not have made me more welcome a big thank you to the staff and doctors

Called reception to book our NHS travel vaccinations. I was informed that Colton Mill do not have a travel clinic. I was given no advice where I should get these vaccines, we booked our vaccinations at Boots this costs us £136 each. Very disappointed as our friends and family we are traveling with get free vaccines from their GP.
