Good for the kids, lots for them to do. There was a guy outside dressed up in civil war uniform who was very chatty about the civil war. I enjoyed the history of Newark part in the museum more than the civil war bits.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good exhibits. Very hands on for children. Clean toilets on site. Interesting videos about different aspects of the civil war. Great dressing up opportunities. Easy to find and short stay car park only 2 mins walk.

Very interesting, they have obviously spent a lot on the interactive displays. But I have to say a little disappointed, for the price & title National" I expected to see a lot more?"

National Civil War Centre - Newark Museum is a museum as the place says, it is the history of Newark on Trent city, you can bring your kids around. You need to pay at the front entrance. There is a disabled car park next to the museum.

Great little museum for all ages. My grandson and I have been several times. Free entry for Newark and Sherwood residents. 4 stars rather than 5 because several of the interactive tables weren't working - given that its the school holidays they really were essential to young people getting the most out of the visit. Even the 20 min cinema show was shut ! Always clean and we'll displayed, history is well explained. Generally there's a separate display upstairs. Toilet facilities great. Cafe in the same building, as well as visitor information displays , children's activities often on. Parking nearby (car park fees).

A very good summary of the civil war and its impact on Britain. Very clear explanation of the politics. Good displays and lots of interactive exhibits for youngsters. Liked the films.

Fantastic museum, high volume of information and artifacts from the wars. Plenty of children's activities from colouring, to playing dress up and toys. The team are extremely friendly and have made a great effort for entertainment for all.

This is an interesting museum with lots of artefacts and displays about the Civil War and the history of Newark. The information is clear in most areas. However, the film was very disappointing. It looked to be an interesting film but I am deaf and the film did not have subtitles so l was not able to understand what was happening. There is a lift to other parts of the exhibition. The staff were friendly. There is a café and there is a payable car park nearby.
