I recommend that if you are looking to start a job with this company that you look elsewhere and that if the recruitment is a reflections of the company in general that you do not deal with this company.I applied for a position as a Apprentice Software Developer with this company and secured a face to face interview on the 23rd of September. The interview went well and I was told to expect news about whether my application was successful or not soon.A company called Firebrand Training was responsible for finding me this position, providing news on my application and providing my training if i was successful so it was with them that i rang to ask of new after waiting a week. I was told they have rang the Ashton Court and they will have news soon, I was told to try again on the following Friday. After waiting another week I was told they hope to have news soon but they are a small company and they are working on a project at the minute which they hoped to finish soon and to try again in a week.I waited and I waited and finally I was fed up, and emailed Ashton Court directly, i was polite and made sure my frustration was not apparent in the email. I received no reply to my email, instead they got in contact with Firebrand to tell them they are still waiting to finish the project and do not contact with them directly again or i will risk angering the company! Finally on the 22nd of October, a month since my interview I received a phone call from Firebrand congratulating me on securing an apprenticeship with the company and that I was just waiting for a written contract and I will be starting on the 3rd of November. After waiting again, Firebrand got in contact the Thursday before I was to begin to tell me the company is working on an important project and they havent had chance to sort out my written contract yet so I will be starting on the 10th of November. I waited again to hear from Firebrand that my contract has now been sorted and that I was ok to start on the following Monday. It is now Friday the 7th of November and i have spent the day talking to Firebrand to find out if my contract has been sorted. I have now been told that they are very busy at the minute and that the wont be able to take on an apprentice until the new year. after hearing this i decided to get in contact with Ashton Court directly to which i was told that I had NOT been offered a position with the company and that they had no knowledge of this AT ALL!!Firebrand has confirmed that this position was offered to me and they have a recording of the phone call with Ashton Court which Catherine ( the person i have been dealing with at Firebrand throughout this ordeal) had been dealing with the same women at Ashton Court for the entire time called Caroline and could be definitely identified from the phone call.I have cancelled my application process with another agency, told my part time job to give me specific shifts for when i start the apprenticeship for two weeks so i will know my finishing time when I worked the day at Ashton Court. have spent £100 on smart clothes in prepiration for the this position. £500 on the best laptop I can afford to use for programming and work from home. And weeks learning to use the programming compiler they use at the company to try and get a head start into the apprenticeship i would be doing with the company. All for nothing!I don't believe that Firebrand is to blame for this. They have been nothing but polite and according to them, hounding Caroline for news until she was sick of hearing from Firebrand. Ashton Court is the one fault. For their current apprentice working in a different area and employed using a different agency, i hope they dont mess you a round as much as they did with me.
