The Willow Tree
Lovely pub with amazing beer garden by the river. We enjoyed the roast beef for lunch and it does not get any better. Beautifully cooked beef, thickly sliced accompanied by Yorkshire pud and lovely veg. All freshly prepared and cooked. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!!

A beautiful meal, in a beautiful beer garden with the most lovely, welcoming, friendly staff who go out of their way to make your time there enjoyable. A large gluten free selection of food too. I just wish we lived closer!

I recently visited The Willow Tree pub in Winchester. The garden by the river is absolutely stunning, and the natural beauty of the surrounding area is really something to behold. The food was tasty, I had the chicken wings and sticky toffee pudding, and both were decent, but not outstanding. The pudding was a bit dry. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to The Willow Tree, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming pub with a beautiful setting.

Very nice place to eat and drink while sitting by the river in the sunshine. Only 4 stars for service due to feeling a bit ignored upon entry. A hello

Nice setting. Ordered fish and chips looked great the shame was the batter was nearly1/3 rd of cm thick on top and bottom. I mentioned at the end of the meal and their attitude was “well every body else ate it and didn’t complain “. If you want great fish and chips go to shoal near king Alfred’s statue .

Having been to The Willow Tree a few times over the years, it's always felt confused about its identity. Is it a local pub? Gastropub? Who knew. However, the new owners clearly have direction, as after it's refurb, it's looking fantastic. We only stopped for drinks but the food looked great, and their outdoor area will be hugely popular in the summer. We'll certainly be back to try it out.The drinks were very reasonable too. I had a soft drink to finish the night as I was driving, and a pint of Pepsi Max cost £2.00 - couldn't quite believe it!I will certainly be back to try their food and support their new venture, the new owners clearly know what they're doing!

Lovely pub, with friendly staff who make you feel welcome. The food was excellent, made with real passion and care which is hard to find these days. Some of the best if not the best pub food I’ve had.

I only gave the Willow Tree 3 stars back in 2021, but went the other day, now that the new owner has taken control, and had a better experience, so am increasing my review to 4 stars.I’d give them 5 stars for the atmosphere, decor and beer…with special recognition for the spacious beer garden. The food is really a 4 star experience still…I had roast beef on this visit and it was pretty gristley. It was good value though and we will probably be back, as the rest of the package is so nice.

I visited with a mate for a catch-up. What a fantastic pub! Good range of ales and other beers, very nice inside and a terrific beer garden by the river. The staff were all friendly and really on the ball, doing the rounds in the garden to bring further refreshments. We only had sandwiches and fries but they turned up pretty quickly and were good.It was a hot sunny Friday lunchtime and not as busy as this great pub deserves, it's only a ten minute walk from the centre and so much better than many of those in town. We will definitely be back soon!
