Homebase - Romford

Visited their garden centre couple of weeks ago to buy some pots and plants but unfornately the parking time limit has ruined the experience. How could you expect your customers to spend more if you don't even let them to park there with peace of mind. Sorry but it was a huge disappointment.

Average store, most things you'll need. Prices/ barcodes on the shelf's don't always match up with the items, so its worthwhile double checking before you go to pay as it's a bit of a gamble what the price at the till will be. Rather miserable and unhelpful checkout staff at the till. 3 out of my 6 visits have been the same, rather disappointing to see such a poor level of service. 1 star

It's 50/50 I do not recommend to go there, I also do not say don't go there. You will get good stuff but on bit higher price

Just went in to hire a rug doctor after calling in advance to ensure I wasn't making a wasted trip. Woman on the phone said it would be fine to pay the deposit ( £50 ) even though on the website it states £10 in cash and pay for the hire of the machine on my card as long as I have identification ( I did ) went into the store and was told I can't pay the deposit in cash. Complete waste of my time!! Not the young lady on the help desks fault she explained properly but the woman on the phones fault.

Huge store with a huge car park. Has a vast collection of home, garden and DIY equipment. Good prices. Friendly staff.Not a heavily crowded place. Can explore leisurely. Due to the availability of a wide range of equipment, can compare easily and decide the most suitable option.

Good size and nice range of items. I tend to visit their for my garden needs. They used to have free parking but now introduced paid parking for when you stay longer than an hour.

Great place to go for tools, equipment and home improvement materials. You can buy and you can hire tools at budget friendly prices and easy documentation requirement. Staff are courteous, friendly and helpful.

Initially in June 2023 all plans were going well. The issue was communication. The one Homebase kitchen fitter was fully booked to end of March 2024 and he required £600 deposit which I was not happy to do. Then I had phoned text confirming that my sage kitchen will be built and delivered on September 19th 2023 - so I planned ahead and after numerous quotes from kitchen fitters - I chose one who was available to start work from 18th September for 7-8 days and £776.40 deposit paid. Saturday 16th Homebase rang me to ask how my kitchen project was going and I replied that it was going well. The lady called Lesley then stated that the kitchen order was cancelled and it will be delivered December. I am very disappointed generally the lack of communication, and poor organisation of Homebase. For nearly £10,000 spent on a Homebase - you would expert a better service.Anyway I had to think fast. If I cancelled the contractor I would loose my deposit- so that Saturday I visited B&Q and chose another kitchen for £3000 approximately. .As for Homebase Kitchens -I would not recommend Romford Homebase to anyone. And do you know what - I felt that staff were trying to make it look like my fault and of course I did not even get an apology.

Popped into this store to check out garden storage. A few on display and good amount of stock. Not busy at all. Didnt understand why the staff at the desks have an attitude problem. Not exactly over worked sitting and chatting at the desks. The lady on the helpdesk. Older , short blonde hair, needs training on how to answer a simple question without looking like her entire life has been inconvenienced! Only asked if someone had handed in my baby's milk bottle that he had dropped somewhere! Being honest I got 'racist' vibes .
