Just opened under new management. Very good fish and chips, and impeccably friendly service from Goksal. Recommended!

Good portion sizes but a bit overpriced compared to Micklegate Fisheries 150 metres up the road. I paid £1.80 extra here for the same meal. Chips were mostly great and OK but had quite a few hard sharp Chips that should be picked out before serving. Peas were very, very watered down and swishing around in the carton so could do with a good stir before serving and less water and not the best mushy peas I've tasted. Try the quality Frozen Lockwoods brand Mushy Peas or the Batchelors Dried Peas that you soak overnight. Opening Times are great and not many that open until this time. Seems like the owner also left his own 5 star review and possibly the same guy is still working there from Fryways. A big improvement though since Fryways so please use the feedback to improve and I will change my review when I next visit :-)
