This practice is simply dreadful since it has been taken over. I have had appointments cancelled, tried phoning on numerous occasions to rearrange but no-one answers, and today have been for a hygienist appointment but the door was locked, doorbell unanswered, tap on the window unanswered and phone seemingly left off the hook. Having waited in freezing weather for over 20 minutes I gave up and came home - a round trip of 14 miles. I had a text reminder of my appointment only yesterday, so if my appointment had to be cancelled at the last minute they could surely have let me know. Disgraceful service.

This is an absolutely awful practice. The previous practitioner was brilliant, but now it's part of a group it is rubbish.I've had two appointments cancelled at short notice and a third on a Saturday with a new dentist but no nurse practitioner or receptionist.Have been back for an appointment but was an hour late for no reason

I made an appt on behalf of my son about 6 weeks ago. He was registered on their their books but he was never treated because he came down with Covid awhile ago and had to cancel his appt. I was told by the receptionist the main dentist left the surgery and there is now a new dentist in Mayfield treating NHS patients. During my phone call I asked several times during this call whether he would be accepted as an NHS patient even though he was not treated yet and the receptionist assured me that he would be accepted because he was already registered as I was and my other son. She was away from the phone for about five minutes talking to someone who could confirm this. The appointment was made but today, six weeks later, my son received a phone call from the Mayfield surgery informing him that they had to cancel the appt. because he could not be accepted as an NHS patient because he was never treated there yet. I informed them that this was all discussed over the phone previously and they agreed to accept him as a patient. The day before the appt. they suddenly come to a decision that they cannot treat him. I phoned to complain and the receptionist assured me the practice manager would phone me back to discuss but of course, he/she failed to do so. I find this behaviour is extremely unprofessional and unethical and feel they have little regard for people. Just because we are NHS patients, does not mean we can be treated badly. My son arranged to have the day off and one day before his appt. he gets the call to say don't bother showing up we can't treat you. I feel disgusted and therefore am writing this review. When you agree to treat someone you should honour that agreement. THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT PEOPLE.I had a response online from them saying the Practice Manager would be in touch but no call from them again. I'm glad I didn't hold my breath.

My Mum and I visted this new dental group today and we were very pleased with the friendly staff. Would definitely recomend this practice to both NHS and Private customers alike.

I had some treatment by Jan at Mayfield and he has fully restored my faith in dentists. Definitely my best ever dentist experience ( pain free and calm) and would highly recommend him. Thanks again Jan, you’re the man!!

Cancel most appointments at the last minute. Virtually impossible to get hold of by phone or email and rude in all communications. Shambolic staffing. Why buy the practice if you don't care about the loyal customer base?

My experience with this dental practice has been very positive. The Practice Manager here is excellent, very efficient and friendly. The other receptionists are equally friendly and helpful. Jan, the new dentist, had on a previous appointment of mine, did an excellent job on a filling I desperately needed. He is very calm and gentle, exactly what you need in a dentist, I hope he stays with this Practice. The hygienist is also very pleasant and gentle, explains what she is doing, which is a comfort.I would highly recommend. The two star reviews I believe refer to a short period of time when the Practice was taken over.
