Bodega Sutton Coldfield

A well presented restaurant that my partner really enjoyed, while I was a little less impressed by my meal.I ordered the xim xim and I was a little disappointed as I really like peanut butter and coconut milk but didn't find the meal that tasty, but this might be just down to personal preference - I'll have to try something else if we go back again. My partner ordered the burger and it was very tasty with crisp, well cooked sweet potato fries. She also found the coleslaw really tasty despite usually not being very fond of it!I found the environment very noisy, so keep that in mind if you like a quiet meal, but I guess it goes with the street food vibe.I believe our waitress was Natasha and we found her very professional and helpful, especially as we tried to change our order after making it.There also send to be a good range of food if you need gluten free menus.

Food and atmosphere really good, staff friendly but some seemed incredibly busy. Beer was nice, cocktails were really disappointing, had me wondering if I’d ordered mocktails by mistake. Overall, not quite as good as Bodega Birmingham but very good for a Sutton restaurant.

I visited Bodega on a quiet Saturday afternoon. What an excellent experience I had. This is a polished, Mexican themed restaurant aimed at those wanting a more sociable South American street food experience. It had ample seating, a large bar to accommodate the cocktail lovers. It is bright, brash and served by excellent staff. The nachos were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Definitely a place to bring friends, family order some sharers and enjoy the fiesta style atmosphere.

AMAZING. I had been to the city centre branch before, but due to how busy it is I never get in. I was very excited to hear there was a Sutton Coldfield branch opening near me, and I was not disappointed.The staff were plesant, very fast and perfect with their timing. I can't recommend the food enough! If you love Mexican food, Bodega have plenty of original twists on traditional food that taste fantastic. Will be making this a regular visit!

Came on a Saturday and it was a great experience, the waitress Jenny recommended us cocktails and stated that they were two for £8 which is a great deal! She was very attentive throughout the night and made sure that we had everything we needed. Will definitely be returning especially for the variety of cocktails.

Food and cocktails good, waiting staff pleasant, but there are a few teething problems. We were given a two hour slot, 7 pm-9 pm which would usually be enough time to eat a meal. However, we were shown to our table late, it took a long time for waiting staff to take our order. Drinks took a long time to come. We had eaten the main course and no one had come to the table by 8:40... Aware that we only had the table until nine we stopped a waiter and asked for two more cocktails and a pudding menu. Our order came eventually, we asked for the bill.... Then the woman seating people (late) came over to tell us that company policy was that you had your table for two hours and we had gone over time. There didn't seem to be anyone waiting for our table...... I pointed out that if that is company policy then the company should ensure that it is possible to get a complete meal within the two hour slot. Maybe there should be dedicated cocktail makers separate from waiting staff. We didn't see the same waiter twice and it seemed very disorganised. If you want decent food, bright, very noisy environment, don't mind waiting for your order and can bolt your food down..... Then Bodega in Sutton is for you.

Amazing night spent here - a big group booking of 22 people and we were well looked after from start to finish! Both our waitress Emma and bar man Ryan went above and beyond to make our night fabulous and memorable! Atmosphere and ambience was bang on and the cocktails were perfect too! Embraced 9 kids too on their own table and made them feel welcome! Finally the food - totally delicious!

Nice place, great staff, food was flavoursome. Recommend getting a load of staters and cocktails.

Booked a table for 9pm thinking that we would be served quickly. However our table wasn't ready until after 9.30 as the previous guests hadn't vacated and the staff hadn't asked them to move (nor had they arranged another table for us). We were unable to even order a drink whilst we waited due to the staff being overworked.However, the food was good. We had 4 small plates (burrito, meatballs, wings and nachos) and a side to share, which was more than enough food and of good quality. Hopefully next time service will be better and I can improve the score.
