We just used the closed field they have for our dog who has terrible recall and can never go off her lead. She absolutely loved every minute, well worth the £6 I paid and all the money goes to the animals which is even better. Would definitely recommend and 100% will be returning.Great little idea

Thank you for wasting my time!I was asked to visit when there were no pets available for adoption. Except half-way through the visit it turned out that there were some, except they would not show them to me (?!) Also the information on the website is out of date. I put down my name to their system and I was assured that next week there would be more cats available and I would be contacted soon. I had no response since. It's been months.I adopted from private individuals who actually needed help. Oh and that process did not take weeks or months.

Volunteered here with work - wonderful charity, looking out for abandoned cats and rabbits. So lovely to be able to help out and support the great work they do! Do check out their summer fairs and donate!!

Donated old towels and bedding and they were very grateful. Lovely kind people looking after discarded animals . I gather run on donations and by volunteers.

Brought my dogs here and it's good. A nice large area for them to run and price is reasonable BUT if you have toy breed puppies I wouldn't say its 100% secure. There are gaps either side of the gate that my 6 month old toy breed could definitely get through. And at the back of the field there's a big sheet of metal placed across the meshwire fence to try and mend a gap. Again my pup would have been able to get through. A bit disappointing as I really wanted somewhere they could run without the worry of them running off and it's not completely secure because my dogs are so small. But great if you have normal size dogs!

We booked the field here to bring our dog for the hour as we're training her and need to improve her recall. The staff were really friendly, the price was good (and goes to a good cause), there's plenty of parking and the facilities were just what we needed (a fenced in big open space). One thing to mention if you drive here. The road to it is a single lane along the side of canal, just keep following it and you'll see it on your left. Thanks

We were told about an enclosed field here by a friend, and although it's a bit soggy due to all the rain we have had, Vinny had a great time here. This is a resource that we will use repeatedly. Thank you.

I wouldn't bother wasting your time coming here as the impression I have thanks to some blonde woman that works here was rude and aggressive. This was very upsetting and disturbing behaviour considering I was out with a friend with our dogs to try and take my mind off suffering from a recent miscarriage. All we did was ask a question politely and was greeted with an aggressive attitude. If asking a question causes you to treat people in this kind of way then I dread to think how you treat the animals here.

The workers and volunteers at the SAA work tirelessly to look after the animals and always have the welfare of the animals at the forefront of everything they do. It seems really sad that some people who obviously haven't had the response they wanted resort to giving bad reviews and putting the adoption of the lovely animals at risk. Keep up the good work ladies you are all amazing and definitely not rude or aggressive. I have witnessed myself the constant stream of people walking past deciding they want to look around or allowing their dogs to run around after the lose feral cats ( that are looked after impeccably) It’s impossible for you to show them all round and look after the animals. Keep up the good work SAA you do what other wont do.Thankyou!!!!

Awful experience with adopting a cat. We adopted Shadow, a beautiful black cat. We were told Shadow wanted another cat to be friends with, 6 yrs old, is very shy but playful and will take some time to come out of his shell. Shadow’s personality is the complete opposite of this - he is lively and playful like a kitten, boisterous and doesn’t get in well with our other cat. He loves the attention of us and is so happy to be around humans but it makes me think he wants to be an only cat. I rung the SAA 8 times over the weekend to check what food Shadow likes as he would only eat dry found or wet chicken and I wanted to check if he loved any other food so it wasn’t the constant same. I had no response and no calls back. Shadow then began to chase our current cat to the point she couldn’t leave a room to eat or use a litter tray so unfortunately we couldn’t keep Shadow. Again, I rung several times to see what could be done and left voicemails to no avail or help. They wouldn’t accept Shadow back. He had actually already been returned once from a previous adopter as he didn’t get on with their cat either - most likely because their description of Shadow is completely wrong and they haven’t taken the time to fully understand him. Unfortunately, we have not been able to keep Shadow due to the distress of our current cat. I wish the SAA was more helpful to help the adopted cats settle into their new homes instead of leaving you high and dry and not returning calls. Very upset and disappointed.
