Hansons London Auction Centre

We attended a valuation day and were told that they would visit our home to see the many items we wanted to place in a sale. We called and emailed several times, and attended another day to try to organise their visit. Calls and emails were unanswered and we have got nowhere in several months. We have now decided to find a more professional auctioneers. Very disappointing as they are close and we had assumed from the Hanson name that they would be professional and competent. I do not recommend them at all.

Requested a condition report/photographs of a Lot I was interested in along with a postage quote. Did not receive a reply however they were quick to send multiple payment chases and reminders for the Lot I won. I was left in a situation where I needed postage and when I eventually got a quote from their in-house postage and packing team, it was very expensive so I ended up arranging it myself externally.

I attended the Hanson Auction Today in London. The auction is one of the most chaotic I have been too. They were not ready to open for viewing at 8.30am with no explanation. I had booked a telephone bid on a lot, and they called me on the wrong Lot.The sale was due to start at 10am and did not start till just before 11am as they were waiting on a member of staff to turn up to do the online bidding for the Saleroom who had been delayed because of Traffic".I bought one lot but it took 40 minutes from buying it to actually pay and collect. The Staff at the cabinet were standing there and were not the least bit interested in passing one lot to me.The staff were very disorganised and in a few cases need training on how to speak to customers politely.I have bought from Etwall many times over the years without any issues

Do not go within a mile of this company. Never have I experienced such utter incompetence. They would be hard pushed to fight their way out of a paper bag. Three times they promised a date for my house clearance. Three times the van broke down or just did not turn up. Then they were uncommunicative. Website looks good but clearly all form over substance

NEARLY 40% COMMISSION !!!!!.....CHRISTIE`S ONLY CHARGE 26%ANSWER ME THIS QUESTION MR HANSON....WHAT MAKES YOU 14% BETTER THAN CHRISTIE`S ?????????????

Terrible experience lost my mother in laws property. Over 2 years later and after many emails / calls they said they had sold it for far less than the reserve price, without our permission. Would never use again.

Watched a live online auction and placed a bid (first time buying at an auction) I can honestly say it was really easy I did contact their call centre as I wasn't sure about how to pay for my items and for P&P the lady I spoke to explained how everything works and how to pay it was so easy and the item arrived the next day tracked delivery I have now got the auction bug and will definitely be buying from Hanson auction again thank you so much for an easy transaction and a very enjoyable experience

Intended to spend a significant amount of money in the auction of the 15 December. I was unable to attend the viewing as it's some distance from me, so I have to rely on condition reports.I requested the report the day the catalogue was uploaded so two weeks notice. Intended to buy a ring, being a private buyer you need to know the ring size, key information. This auction house can't be bothered to list this information, also can't be bothered to reply to numerous requests for that information prior to the auction and an indication of condition.Pathetic.Clearly not geared to the private buyer, just dealers.If you intend to sell an item this is not the place to use as you will not realise the maximum potential for your item when private buyers are not bidding. Dealers with never pay as much for an item as a private buyer who does not have to sell it on to make a profit.Three requests through the saleroom, and two through their own site and no response.Would never consider using this auction house again, no need when there are numerous good auction houses available.Beware of the ones that do not supply detailed condition reports, there is always a reason.

had a valuation of stamps that my grandfather and father collected from pre war, the valuer that we saw was insulting and wanted to buy the whole lot for £150, since i came home after a 150 mile journey one of the stamps got sold for £15000. They are a rip off and he told me that it was a junior collection. What a junior collection from the 1800's!!!. I have no faith in that company. Wasted my day.

My friend and l had an OK experience and had a few things valued and we decided to go ahead and sell the items. We have left ao many messages and called the office in Teddington but it appears no one is interested in answering our calls or messages. Maybe Hansons don't want to sell our items. Very disappointed with the service especially from a well known auctioneers company
