Both automatic ticket machines were out of service and no one was there to buy tickets from. The user interface of the automatic machines, when they work, is the most complicated I've ever seen. I'm a software dev and it took me quite a while to figure them out. Most people give up and join the queue to be serviced by the tellers. The queue regularly ends up being long enough to have people queueing up outside the station.I have no idea why they can't integrate with london's oyster card.

Average station on the C2C line that serves just outside of the main town center up the hill. Station has a car park, ticket office (which was packed and had a massive line on Saturday) and step free access to all platforms via some large lifts.Trains are frequent throughout the day towards Southend and London and there are local buses stopping outside of the station forecourt.

A nice train station that is served by c2c trains this station has lifts to the platforms. The ticket hall area is a large size with a coffee shop inside. There are 3 platforms which a long with lots of room toilets are available here along with a waiting room. Outside is a cash machine along with a bus stop and cab stand. The station was clean and tidy.

I grew up in Leigh on Sea and visit family who still live there. Old Leigh is lovely, I used to walk the dog there and drink in the pubs. The train route to London has much improved. A good area with local retail areas and public transport routes.

Quaint streets with lots of pubs and bars by the waterfront. Lovely tea shop and gallery with pottery and paintings. Nice walk along to waterfront towards Southend with great views over the estuary.

Only station in the area that has a lift, so handy if you have luggage or a buggy, as there are a lot of stairs to get from platform to street. Plenty of parking if you're picking up or dropping someone off. Good, fast, service into London.

Station is very well connected, if you walk up the hill to your right you are in Leigh-on-sea Town, full of shops, and restaurants. If you leave the station and take left you go towards the park. If you leave the station and walk direct along the coast you will find nice bars, pub, fish market and a great foot path to walk. Lovely in a sunny day!

Staff unhelpful and without much idea about customer service. Bus stop and taxi rank directly outside though pick up and drop off point relatively small with waiting limited to 20 minutes between 7am and 7pm. Pedestrian access to pay car park (owned by C2C rail) could be made much easier by the provision of steps at the north-east corner as walk at present is unnecessarily long. Station building, which is interesting for its architecture (albeit some might consider this a little austere) could do with some refurbishment. Presence of coffee shop, however, which sells food and drink at extremely reasonable prices, a definite plus point.
