Dave is the most incredible glass artist I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing and talking to. His new class is a hands on brilliant way to learn what could be a dying art. Step by step Dave takes you through everything you need to build a beautiful art piece. His class is worth 10 times the cost and honestly if you have a slight art background or even none you can easily follow Dave and become a gilder. This class is well thought out and gives you lost information with real world knowledge and application skills. What are you waiting for? Wow what a fantastic course , as a relative newbie to the whole art and craft of Signwriting and lettering and glass art I just knew that I had to get involved with Dave’s course the minute it dropped having waited with eager anticipation when Dave first suggested an online course was in the mix , and like a lot of the other participants have stated on their journeys I had watched countless videos collected a rather large array of books from Amazon etc but the information is spread thinly and far and wide … I can only describe it as trying to pic the lock on a bank vault only for Dave to come along and hand you the keys … it really is that informative and an incredibly personal experience , Ive always been creative and artistic but have never really tried to harness it fully , probably due to the nature of a lifetime in uniform in high intensity high risk jobs and at times very traumatic even though I mostly loved it and did well at it and even if I’ve seen More than I ever should have .. it’s always very rewarding to be able to help others in time of need … it is with all that in mind that I fully fully appreciate Dave’s gift of sharing his incredible knowledge with usAnd I absolutely love and if whomever reads this and gets this far then I’m sure you will love it tooThere simply is no time to wasteA wonderful life enhancing , skill enhancing , Joy of a courseThank you DaveYour new muckerSteve

Dave Smiths Gold Leaf Workshop is a very detailed and in-depth class on all the various techniques of Gold Leafing. It runs through everything from brush work and techniques, glass types, cleaning the glass, brushes and materials all the way through to all the different types of gold leafing, texturing and scalloping. For anyone wanting to learn this dying art it's a must. He was also quick to respond on email and called me to help resolve an issue I was having. Highly recommended!

I'm having a wonderful journey following David's online gilding class. First of all, David is a very kind and extremely gifted person. I loved the class as it felt like I was with David in his studio. Second of all, I've been looking for such a class for years in France and I have never been able to find one gathering so much gilding techniques. All the courses from this class are very well explained, produced and documented. I've been able to find all the informations I've been looking for for years, from what supplies to buy to the simplest and the most sophisticated techniques. As the lessons are in real time, you can't miss any step of the processes. Third of all, David has answered all the questions I sent him via emails so I could overcome any obstacle and improve my techniques. Following Dave on Instagram for over a decade, I would always find myself trying to figure out how he was creating these amazing works of art. With each photo Dave would share techniques and materials but as good as that was I still had so many questions. Now with this online workshop available every detail is uncovered. From materials and supplies to the suppliers themselves, techniques and tricks, every helpful hint has been unveiled in this amazing course. I have taken online courses from other artists before and I have never seen anything with this amount of information before. Working though, you will see just how thought out organized Dave developed this program. It is set up perfectly to work at your own pace which gives time to collect materials, set up your work station and create the example pieces laid out in the course. From a beginner to an advanced gilder there is so much you will learn from Dave’s mastery of this craft that he shares. Being in the states and not being able to make it to his live workshops the videos are captured in a way where It feels like you’re right in the studio with Dave. I am so grateful for this program and I can not thank Dave enough for sharing his life’s worth of knowledge with the world. I highly recommend this course to anyone and everyone that is interested in gilding. After working though these example pieces you will be a gilder too!

David's online course has been an absolute pleasure and is invaluable as a resource for anyone interested in this ancient craft . whispering Dave is a natural teacher as well as a total inspiration as well as an incredible talent .I am looking forward already to the next installment of his course .

HUGE thanks to Dave! I've been wanting to take one of his courses for about 5 years now, and I finally got around to enrolling on his online course. I'm slowly working my way through it, and I'm loving every minute of it and learning so much!I've been gilding for 8 years and dabbling in glass gilding for the past 5 years, trying to figure out how to ‘do it properly.’ I've gathered snippets of information from books and bits and pieces on the internet, but this course has been absolutely invaluable in terms of the knowledge I've gained. It's also been a fantastic and much-needed source of inspiration!So again, a big thanks to Dave for creating this course and sharing so much about the craft. The techniques and tips demonstrated in real time have been amazing. Taking this course is the best thing I've done in ages! I'm really excited to continue at my own pace with all the projects and I believe it will reinvigorate my creativity and enable me to take my glass gilding work in a much more confident direction.

Hello Dave,I consider myself fortunate in that I have had the unique opportunity to initially go to Torquay on a 4 day class and also take your Online class.

I thought it might be interesting for me to provide some feedback from my perspective.In Jan 2019 I made my way to you for a 4 day class. It was an amazing experience that started me on my path to learn many aspects of this art form. Airplane flights to and from, hotel accommodations, transportation by train, long days and nights working in the studio which was an amazing and exhausting learning experience. You packed a lot into this class and it provided a foundation for me to begin when COVID struck in 2020.This was all I had hoped for but there is a limit to what even you can pack into an in person class.Next came the 1st Online class in gilding. I looked over the content and was amazed with how much more information and teaching was provided. Just going through the first part of the videos took me to another level of proficiency. It would have been impossible for you to get all of this information to us during the in person class. The ability to go back and view the instruction several times at my own pace was a great asset in that I was able to try all of the variations you demonstrated. Now, I have many more tools in my toolbox of knowledge available. I could continue on here as there is so much more about the on line class to share. 

That said, and having done both, if someone is interest in learning, I would suggest the Online class provides the most cost effective and content rich option for those wanting to tap into the years of experience you have gathered and provided for all. Time is a valuable resource and we only have so much of it.Thanks for making your skills and knowledge available.
